After long days of negotiation with Mickael, we finally managed to talk him into letting go of a few of his pet creations — effects that have made him among the best known French creators of magic in the world. Mickael will be offering a new collection of tricks, curiosities, and illusions throughout 2012!

The first effect, or rather illusion, is called HOLE. Since putting it online a few days ago, HOLE has been the subject of much discussion in magic forums and clubs. After many inquiries into the availability of the trick in magic stores, we have decided to release it.

Let's take a look at the effect in detail: The spectator examines a red card that has an approximately 1" hole through its center. Aside from the hole, the card is perfectly ordinary. Take out a few self-stick labels and invite the spectator to choose and SIGN one of them.

Take the top card of the deck and place the red card with the hole on top of it. Using the label, hinge the two cards together at the bottom edge. Invite a spectator to verify that your "construction" is solid by pulling on it.

Now you explain to your spectator that nothing can pass through the joined cards without tearing the label. The proof: invite your spectator to take a card from the deck, sign it, and place it between your two attached cards. His card is still visible through the hole in the red card but as the spectator will note, the label prevents all passage.

Offer to realize the impossible — to cause the passage of his card through the label without damaging it. An undisputed impossibility! The passing of solid through solid!

Slowly place the spectator's card between your two cards. Show both sides, leaving no doubt that the spectator's card is trapped and yet... Slowly the spectator's card passes through the label as if it weren't there. And yet, you show right away that your "construction" is as solid as it was at the beginning!

A truly curious experiment made all the more so as your spectator can examine the cards and the label! An unsolvable mystery!

The principle behind HOLE is really different, and the spectator can hold the cards together without being any the wiser. The illusion is more than convincing and the spectator can feel the card slowing pass through the label himself.

The gimmick is delivered with an explanatory DVD that will walk you through this incredible experiment.

Pit Hartling

Pit Hartling was the first Vanishing Inc artist featured in a download (remember The Core?). Now he is back with two ingenious and offbeat card miracles, both together for just ten dollars.

Strange Attractors: Pit's take on Larry Jennnings' The Searchers plot is a real fooler! Two cards eerily sink into the pack to sandwich a chosen card. Notice how Pit's handling is so, so free and hands-off. He merely squares the cards and magic happens. The "attraction" happens in two phases, which is particularly smart.

Odd Men Out: To find two selected cards, the performer changes the pack into all red cards, and then all black cards. The illusion is perfect, and it is accomplished using little more than a two-handed fan and a faro shuffle. You get lots of mileage out of a basic yet subtle method.

Ghost Lamp

Sure enough, the top card of that pile is the spectator's selected card. To turn the light bulb off, you cut an "invisible" wire with a scissor. Floating Card

The Third Eye

The Third Eye allows you to do just that! Place The Third Eye in the space between someone's eyebrows, and that person only will be able to locate a selected card. 3. Hand The Third Eye to a different person, and show that it has a red blinking light. Ask him to place the Eye to his forehead, in the space between his eyebrows, and he will instantly know which one was the chosen card.

Crystal Cleaver

A ring (which may be borrowed) is placed into a crystal casket and the top is closed. The box is covered with an empty tube. A magical cleaver (a small sword) is inserted into the top of the tube, and then magically pushed down through the crystal casket and through the ring. When the tube is removed, the sword is through the ring inside the casket.

Blue Crystal

Push a card so that it penetrates right through a transparent blue crystal. Cause a coin to sink down into the crystal, and then rise back to the surface. And then your spectator can immediately touch the surface of the crystal, but there are absolutely no holes or slots anywhere.
