Ladislas Toubart

Outbreak

Ladislas Toubart is a master of cardistry and is regarded as one of the top card flourishers in the world. Outbreak is his debut project, featuring 17 original card flourishes.

Learn Ladislas’s signature moves, all explained from multiple angles and in slow-motion, including an easy to follow point-of-view shot.

Plus never before seen moves and concepts by Dimitri, Ryuji, Anthony, and Ryoma.

Outbreak is not only an instructional video teaching original card flourishes, but a tribute to cardistry, and a visual expression of our passion for the art.

Filmed on location by François Dubois in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Los Angeles's factory district.

I really like this Collection because of the content and originality of some of the flourishes.

The learning process is slightly basic; as it simply an OTS shot which randomly switches to highlight certain/specific parts of the flourish. This can be confusing when you're looking down at your hands to then look up and it has switched views. Still - it hasn't been a problem learning them. Some are very challenging, some you will pick up near enough on the first watch through. There is no verbal walkthrough or (as I said) selection on views. All that being said, the intermediate flourisher shouldn't have any problems here, and should pick up some great new chops!

Nice work! Hope to see more from Ladislas.

The explanations are simply slow motion versions of the flourishes with multiple angles. I'd prefer some vocal explanations for some of the tricky parts, with tips, but I've managed to learn some without that. A lot of these flourishes are "swoopy and loopy" as I put it. Different. There are fairly challenging bits in all of them, but I've gotten some great inspiration for other moves while practicing.
