Outstanding tutorial! Very practical and surprisingly easy to perform. As Paul often states the deck switch is all about timing and picking the correct moment to perform the switch. Paul’s tips and subtleties on hand positions is critical and makes this advance card sleight very doable. Great stuff!!

I've always felt nervous to perform a deck switch, the time I used one, the audience did not notice it, I have this download to thank for that. Several great switches to choose from. Most of them are pretty simple and direct nothing to fancy, but you do not want fancy with an audience burning your every move ;) great download, definitely worth it.

R Paul Wilson does a great job here. I'm very impressed with this video tutorial.

Years ago, I saw a Youtube clip from a documentary. The interviewer was talking to an African-American man who, I believe, was a retired card hustler. This man demonstrated his skill at deck switching and it was the very first time I heard the term "ringing in a cooler". The interviewer was absolutely fried (as was I). It was absolute perfection! It was absolutely imperceptible!!!

I just recently received Roberto Giobbi's "The Art of Switching Decks" and I've only skimmed it. I can't wait to get more into it, but I wanted to find that Youtube clip again. I did a search for "ringing in a cooler" and "deck switching". Unfortunately, I didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find this. Serendipity! It was at a good price, so I purchased it. SO GLAD I DID!

R Paul Wilson is a great guy (I know him personally) and one heck of a great teacher. I cannot recommend this video enough if you're looking into deck switching. He teaches several methods (all on the table). It is well captured and detailed in its instruction. Highly recommended.

Kudos to R. Paul Wilson and Vanishing Magic for this gem.

This is a great introduction to deck switching. I do agree with one of the other reviews that the explanations could have benefited from slowing down significantly at times, but it’s not a huge problem. I just had to hit pause and replay a few extra times.

R. Paul is an amazing resource for table workers, as well as a terrific teacher. This video contains very useable strategies and techniques for the tabled deck switch. Highly recommend.

This tutorial by Paul Wilson is essential for anyone using a cold deck and isn't that everyone who does card magic?
You will learn that there is no need for special props with the methods that are taught, at most just a card box.
Paul Wilson is a great teacher. He explains everything in great detail and the camera work is what you would expect from Art of Magic.

If you do any work with memorized, stacked, gimmicked or gaffed decks you need to know more than one way to load and ditch said decks. This video is a steal for t he price. Paul Wilson delivers what can be considered a short masterclass on the subject. Any of these switches can elevate your magic to a higher level. Needless to say I am very pleased with my purchase.

Who better than Paul Wilson to provide us with several practical methods for ringing in a cooler. The hundreds he did filming his BBC television series are probably more than any crooked gambler did under fire in their lifetime.

I particularly like that he teaches methods both for under fire and "on the offbeat." All are deceptive, elegant and practical. His advice on "getting in" and "getting out" is something I have never found in the few other places a cooler has been taught. Thanks Paul, thanks Art of Magic.

It's a little rushed and some of the deck switches would have benefitted from being shown in slow motion from more than one angle. But the switches themselves are excellent, particularly for table work (there's less here for the close-up strolling magician). Excellent value.

a variaty of practical deck switches. I would have loved if all the actions of getting into position to the actual deck (various strategies) switch plus getting rid of the first deck would have been shown.
also, all these deck switches are for performers seated at a table. There were no stand up deck switches, but some of the shown ones could be modified for stand up situations.

Seven deck switches are shown, two involving the card box. He explains the how and when. The video is about 20 minutes, for the price, it a fair amount of switches taught. He doesn’t show from where or how to ditch the switched deck, although he does mention what he does. It would have been nice to see a short performance that involved a deck switch and a reveal of the how so as to see the timing and action. But overall, for the price, good enough.

This is an excellent video on how to switch a deck in play. Much has been written on this subject as well as a number of videos. However, this video demonstrates some very practical deck switches which could be used by the magician for switching in a memorized deck or that special setup for the final effect.

I was hoping for a slow step by step movements.
