Magifest 2021 is Happening: It's What We All Need
By Joshua Jay - Monday, September 14, 2020
We’re so pleased to be able to announce this. Magifest 2021 is happening, and it’s going to change to include as many magicians as possible, from all around the globe. That’s right, we’re going to be having the same physical, live event in Columbus, Ohio. But we’re also going to be streaming everything live as it happens so wherever you are in the world, you can join in the lectures, shows and of course the hangtime.

More work has gone into this year's Magifest than all the previous years combined. We've planned and cancelled and replanned the event multiple times. We’ve explored every avenue that would put our guests' safety first, and still allow us to celebrate together.
A decision has been reached and we have a plan. We ARE going to move forward, but have pushed the convention to May 6-8th, in the sincere hope that the world will have normalized by that time.

Join Us Online Or In Person
To make sure that Magifest will take place whatever is going on in the world, we’ve also built an online convention system from the ground up. If you cannot, or would prefer not to attend in person, you can still experience the best of what Magifest delivers. The lectures, the shows, the dealers and of course the jamming and hangtime will all be available online via our bespoke new software. Learn from the best, experience incredible shows and of course catch up with old friends and make new ones - virtually. This incredible news means that if you couldn’t get to Ohio for whatever reason, this is the first time you can attend Magifest on your laptop, tablet or phone.
Safety First
For the physical event we're taking huge extra safety measures and severely limiting capacity (which we will ease if a vaccine is readily accessible by the time of the convention).
We Miss You
We know that Magifest serves an important social function for magicians. It's typically the first magic convention of the year, and is the only time many of us get to visit with one another. Having been isolated for so long, we're feeling this acutely. We miss our magician friends. We miss live lectures and dealer rooms and late night jam sessions. But now, at least, we have a goal to aspire to, and something to look forward to.

The Line Up
And there is SO MUCH to look forward to: Steve Cohen is our Guest of Honor, and we're ELATED that someone so accomplished and sought-after will make a rare convention appearance for us. We also welcome Denis Behr to our stage, where he will present his full card show. Lucy Darling will be making her Magifest debut, as will Alex Boyce. Jon Armstrong, Eric Jones, Brent Braun and a dozen others have also been confirmed. See the full line up.

We hope to see you next May, in person or online, for Magifest 2021. Read about all of the changes we're making for Magifest 2021.
