Preventing the spread of germs and viruses. That’s the #1 topic on everyone’s mind. That’s why AmazeKids’ Danny Orleans and Chris Michael have written a magic show that you can do for young children that speaks to this very topic.

Click on the video to see Chris talk about how he booked the Scrub-a Dub-Dub magic show just before America started “sheltering in place” in March of 2020.

This 40-page ebook combines the CDC guidelines with magic tricks you already know how to do. The result is a complete script that incorporates the talking points children need to learn to prevent the spread of germs.

  • Handwashing
  • Proper sneezing
  • Don’t touch the seven holes in your head
  • Don’t share drinks
  • The five-second rule has disappeared!

Chris and Danny have injected the script with loads of laughs, running gags, a coloring book that gets sick, and “germs” that pop up in the most unexpected of places. You may find it hard to believe, but yes, there is humor in virus-prevention—and you can use it to help kids remember the important message that your show delivers.

Young audiences will giggle when they see your Scrub-a-Dub Magic Wand and get wide-eyed when a germ-filled donut magically multiplies. But most importantly, the teachers and parents will appreciate the service you’re providing to educate their children about staying safe and healthy.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

  • A Word About the Script
  • 4 Virtual Performance approaches for Scrub-a-Dub-Dub

  • Sneeze Please!
  • Don’t Touch Too Much
  • Do as I Do
  • Floor Food
  • Coloring Book With a Cold
  • Cups and Germs
  • Gypsy Germy Thread

Best of all. This can be a virtual magic show because there is no contact between you and the kids. No volunteer helpers on stage, no hand-to-hand contact, or kids holding props. That means you can make an iPhone video of one trick or the whole show to share with families and organizations for their kids, members and staff. Or take it to the next level and stream it to clients like schools, libraries and camps that have a budget for programs and funds for original content.

This is a downtime for all of us who perform. But you can turn downtime into productive time when you get the ebook with the complete script for the Scrub-a-Dub-Dub Magic Show. Start creating, learning and marketing a show that—during these challenging times—has more relevance than any other “themed” show in your repertoire.

“This is gold! Super impressed by the thoughtful approach toward a situation we suddenly find ourselves in. Clever and so well done!” Mario the Maker Magician
"An adorable show that is full of laughs and great teaching moments! Perfect for 3 - 6 year olds." David Kaye AKA Silly Billy
"What a great way to teach children about germs and hygiene by marrying the message with the magic. It’s a health care educator’s dream." Neil Baum, MD Physician/Magician
This is great! it teaches some amazing ideas that are very important right now.." Eric Knauss AKA The Great Zucchini

At the time when this came out, I feel like it had relevant and useable information. I didn't get around to using any of it but by now, I feel like a lot of info from this is normal life now. The new normal. And kids are so exposed to these recommendations by schools, parents, etc. that the magician telling them is a little overbearing. Just personal opinion. YMMV. Kids want to have fun during shows but unless you're hired to specifically cover this topic, I wouldn't include it in any of my shows. With that being said, there's good content here, that's well written and thought out.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Catherine asks: I just want to check, are all the props in this included, if not what will you have to provide yourself to perform the show?

    • 1. Danny Orleans (creator) responds: Hi Catherine...The props are not included. This is a downloadable ebook. Most magicians will have most of the props they need to do all eight routines included in the script. If you don't, the script is flexible, and it's easy to imagine how to substitute props you have for the ones suggested in the script in order to deliver the healthcare message. Here are props listed in the ebook: A magician’s table or case on a chair or tripod • Collapsible garbage basket with white plastic garbage bag inside. • Set of 1” red sponge balls • Breakaway Wand • Magic Hat • Sponge Donut, Rubber Banana or another compressible fake food • Paper bag • AmazeCups • Coloring Book and Vanishing Crayons • A Small Velcro Sticker • A Scrub-a-Dub-Dub Wand – A magic wand with a bar of soap on one end. You’ll need to make this. • Gypsy Thread or piece of rope, scissors and change bag • Two D’Lite gimmicks
  • Pastor Neale asks: Is it ok if I use the script as a springboard? I am a ventriloquist and a magician and I could see some of my characters being used in this. Also if we were to make a video - is the script copyrighted? Is an acknowledgement needed?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: For sure! But you can't publish it, that's all.
  • Adam asks: Is this show able and conducive to being performed online over zoom at all or is it mainly just good for live presentations? Thank you!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Although better live, I don't see any reason why the scripts would not play well online.
