This is my preferred thumb writer. The unique design of this gimmick puts the pen tip less than 1mm from your thumb, giving you incredible writing control. With some practice you can write words in cursive and even learn to write with your non-dominant hand. This design gives you far more control than any other thumb tip writer. Each pen tip should last dozens of performances. Its very easy to replace with simple tools (pliers) and I'd say 80% of pens you find will fit in the gimmick. No need to buy pen refills when you can find them free almost everywhere. The video instructions were just OK. The number one rule of thumb writing is NEVER LOOK WHILE YOU WRITE. The guys teaching this would stare at their writing mid-performance which is a big no-no. Take my advice...don't follow their instructions exactly. Practice until you can write with one hand and without looking. From there you can create your own routines.
