Passage looks just as good in a close-up magic or street magic performance as it does on a Zoom magic show or social media video.

This special gimmick is crafted out of a Bicycle playing card and is now available in either RED or BLUE. It is incredibly easy to learn and you'll be performing it just minutes after watching the instructions.

Perfect for social media and zoom shows would recommend it to anyone who wants a crazy visual in their zoom performance. I don’t understand why there’s a one star on this product when it is obviously made for social media and works perfectly fine.

This is a tough one to write a fair review about. The description is correct, this is ONLY for social media and Zoom. This will not work at all in real life. It also is terribly obvious what the method is. So obvious that I thought for 22 pounds there must be more to it and bought it anyway. But really, I could have built this myself in fair enough quality to work after watching the product video (NOT the instruction video).
The product you get is decently built and with the materials used durable for hundreds of performances - but compared to the huge amount of work put into other gimmicks, Passage is overpriced. And because this is such a one-trick-pony, you do not need the durabilty at all. I've done it twice and might have a third use for it. So all in all it will have had less than a minute of accumulated "stage time". Another plus: you will need no training time at all. You can use it straight away. Just do a camera check once.
So all in all I guess the "deceive" here is that you think you get something clever. You "only" get something useful in a very limited way. It does well what it does, but that's not enough for me.

It seems like Sebastien Calbry is very good at insulting its customers' intelligence! You can't even perform this for a 5 yo child without making a fool of yourself.

    • 1. William answers: I have not purchased this item but I believe I figured out how to create the gimmick which could be made with any kind of card or business card. It can’t be handed out for inspection that’s why it is only for use on a video. This is not considered a close up or street magic gimmick. Clever and worth the money, unless you have the imagination to build your own.

    • 1. Danielle answers: It means this is absolute tat and is far too angly to use live. You can only use this on social media, because if you try it in real life people will easily see exactly what is going on. Far too much of this kind of magic going round now.

Given the past year has been limited to virtual shows, and the huge popularity of magic on TikTok and Instagram, this 'kind of magic' is simply the new TV magic. There will be loads of performers that this is perfect for. Just because it's not for you, doesn't make it tat.

  • Paul asks: Is this Gimmick easily breakable? I don't want to put the creator down, but I've bought a few of his effects that have snapped, or broke very easily. Most of them during the initial practice and before I got to try them out on people.

  • Jonathan asks: One last question (don't get annoyed) about performing this live (which I understand is not recommended), can you hold the card flat (like a table) where everyone sees it from the top? ...or with controlled (one or two) spectators? Perhaps it is worth a shot? I don't do social media but would like to perform this trick.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: If your spectators are as close as that they may see how it works. This effect is best suited for performing online instead of a live performance.
