FALL 2.0 FALL 2.0 FALL 2.0

Due to massive customer demand, one of the best-selling mentalism/magic effects of the last decade is back and better than ever!

When "FALL" was originally released in 2016, it was an instant hit, selling out almost immediately every time it came back in stock. It was, and still is, used by some of the best magicians in the world.

While the ability to send a pen dramatically crashing to the ground with your mind was an incredible effect on its own, creators Philip Ryan and Banachek were always bothered by the fact that the Sharpie could not be used to write.

So, after working tirelessly over the last few years, Vortex Magic is THRILLED to introduce "FALL 2.0."!

Now, before you perform the basic "FALL" effect where a pen falls off a table or glass on your command, you can hand the sharpie to a spectator to write something down. That's right, you can use the "FALL 2.0" sharpie like a regular pen for writing predictions, signing playing cards or anything else. This takes the power and impromptu feeling of "FALL" to insane new heights.

"FALL 2.0" is SUPER EASY TO DO and will have your audiences screaming or running out of the room! This is simple and direct magic at its finest. It's perfect for any close-up magic or street magic performance.

Important Details

  • The sharpie uses the same method as the original "FALL", but can now WRITE as well
  • You can control the time of the drop to make it happen in seconds or upwards of 2 minutes
  • NO magnets or threads
  • You can be as far away as you want when it falls
  • Can be performed anytime, anywhere—or even while you're completely surrounded

NOTE FROM THE MANUFACTURER: Every "FALL 2.0" unit is handmade by Philip to ensure they are in perfect working condition. Each one uses a secret construction that only HE knows. It is almost impossible to re-create, even if you take the pen apart and look inside. This means that knockoffs are guaranteed to not work and WILL NOT write. Please do not be fooled by knockoff ads for "FALL 2.0".

NOT AS RELIABLE AS THE ORIGINAL...BUT STILL WORTH IT!

I wanted to take some time to really get to know this one before posting a review because I was such a fan of the original...and I own 2 of them. I also bought 2 of these to avoid the "one off"; and that said they still perform inconsistently and require lots of practice.

While the original fall is more of a "tool"; reliable and precise. This one is more of an "instrument"; fiddly and you really need to practice and get to know yours individually. For some, this may be a deal-breaker. For me, it's a fun challenge.

I find it difficult to get precise timing down, even after weeks of testing. It can range from 10 seconds, 20, 40, 1 minute, 4 minutes, it may roll, or sometimes won't move at all. But for me, this is more like real mentalism. If you get as close as possible to the "pivot-point" (and you'll figure this out) you will at least have something you should generally be able to work with. We're doing "experiments". And for me that's enough, but it does not really live up to the ad copy and does not work as well as the original (other than being able to write with it).

In the end, you have a 100% examinable sharpie that you can write with, have the spectator write with, and with "some" reliability do a PK effect with as well, so it's worth it for me. The ad copy exaggerates in my opinion and I wish it were priced closer to $20 for the lack of reliability and the fact that I hate to risk losing it, but in the end it does work and for me is 100% workable. This is what real mentalism would look like, in my opinion. It doesn't always have to be perfectly.

Not as reliable as the first version. Prepare yourself to talk a lot or do a lot of diverse moves before it tilts... One time it took more than ten minutes to get it to fall. Another time 2 minutes. Another time never...
So be prepare to experience chaos with the device.

I'm not crazy about this thing. It's far too unpredictable to time the fall. I have real difficulty just resting it on the edge of whatever surface I'm using. I'm fumbling to balance the thing which adds suspicion that I'm up to something. And timing is impossible. It may fall immediately, or in 10 seconds, or in a minute and a half... or not at all. Disappointed.

  • Anthony asks: Any choice in colors? I've purchased 4 Fall sharpies the past few years ( they can wear if you use them frequently) and I'm so glad that you finally released the new version. I attempted to make my own in different colours that can write.but it's true there is something unique about what fall and fall 2.0 use to get the accuracy of timing down. I look forward to purchasing one... Please have multiple colours to choose from! :)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: At this time, only black is available. But, it's a great suggestion!
  • Peter asks: Can you refill the ink for the marker, and does it show how if so?

    • 2. Jeremy answers: You can (and the tutorial shows how) but it says to do so at your own risk.
