It's rare to come upon a trick that is COMPLETE. With "FACT" you receive a completely worked-through routine: a compelling presentation, a diabolical magic trick, and a deck of cards that does ALL the work for you. What's not to love?

The idea is that a deck of cards is cut and shuffled, and the spectator follows a series of instruction cards that are increasingly fair and impossible. And despite the mixing and the COMPLETE fairness of the procedure, the spectator finds her OWN selection...and then she finds all three mates to the selected card.

What you're investing in with "FACT" is a full routine, ready to be inserted into your show. It has a compelling script, a fun, interactive premise, and a HIGHLY deceptive method. This trick requires no advanced skill, and the special deck of cards contains everything you need to perform, right out of the box. We love Caleb Wiles' magic, and he teaches this clever performance piece in great detail on downloadable video instructions.

Package includes: Gimmicked deck and online instructions.

"That is such a beautiful trick."Penn Jillette

"When I first saw Caleb perform The Fully Automatic Card Trick on Fool Us I was smiling, ear to ear, because it had all the hallmarks of a great piece of magic: engaging presentation, completely deceptive, and unlike anything I've seen before. I'm a big fan of Caleb, and this trick!"

Note: The extra blank cards are not included in the second edition

It's a great, simple, but impactful trick! It allows you to focus on the participant and the audience! Just when everyone thinks the trick is over, boom, there's more! The audience will not know what hit them!

Excellent! Love this trick

What can I say, this is a real fooler and I love best that the spectator is doing all the work for you. I love the fact that is puts the magic in their hands. I rarely get asked to repeat a card trick, but this one is the top of the list.

This effect is fantastic. Very easy to do and if you been performing maic for any lenght of time, a deck switch should be very easy. I meet Caleb in 2009 and have been impressed with his work ever since. Thank you Caleb.

This routine is out of this world!!!
Caleb made the perfect trick to make your spectator the hero of the show and feel amazing.
For this routine you need to manage your performing spectator very well but with the explanation of Caleb this is not a problem!

This is one of my all time favorites on Fool Us and im so happy he brought it to market!
This was money well spend!

I picked this up during the last Vanishing Inc sale and wow am I glad I did. My initial negative was that the effect seemed procedural but in actual FACT (pun intended), it is an entertaining premise and the effect is so strong. This is brilliant.

As said before the set up takes a little practice and time to set up. Wouldn’t really be suitable for table hoping or such like as the reset isn’t quick.
Having said that, this effect is truly awesome. It truly does work itself automatically with just the very slightest input from the performer. The effect has several very strong phases and builds to a fabulous climax. This one will not be ending up forgotten in a drawer. Highly recommended.

Just received my FACT deck …. already satisfied and happy. Great creation with updates since the “P&T Fool Us” performance.
Tutorial instructions are easy to follow, well explained. Quality USPC Bicycle deck.
Highly recommend ????????

Love this routine.

Excellent trick, especially as the spectator does all the moves. I also like the way to deck switch to make it possible to go right into another trick. Took a while to remember the set up, but when you understand the trick, it becomes much easier. Great explanation as well. Great effect and would certainly recommend

This is a perfect trick for my style. I love putting the cards in spectator's hands, talking them through it, and making jokes all the way. The video demonstrates the setup and method perfectly clear and I appreciate the extra customizable cards. Thank You!

Magic Excellence !!! This is an amazing trick, and he explains everything perfectly.

Very good! For a packet trick its simple to make up and to use, and it uses a very neat principle to "sell" the magic. It can be easily adapted for different occasions or audiences.

Vanishing inc. is one of my favorite stores ever. It helps me with all of my shopping because it is online, easy and free. Instead of walking or driving all this way to a store like Tannens for my magic, I can just simply hop online. Their delivery is fast and super friendly, and their customer service is excellent. I also love this promotion, as it is a very smart way to get free vanishing inc. points. Thank you for an excellent shopping experience.

My new favorite card trick using a full deck. But this isn't just a "trick". And it's more than a routine - it is practically a magic show in and of itself. For an effect this strong, this should be more difficult to do. But it is amazingly easy to learn and probably underpriced. A no brainer for any close up performer. This is one of those things that's even fun to practice because it makes you look good :)

Great effect! I thought it would be a complicated set-up and difficult sequence to accomplish but Caleb style of instruction is detailed, effective and well paced. Can't recommend this trick enough. Not only is it virtually hands-off for the magician and takes place in the spectator's hands; the simplicity of this trick let's you focus on the patter and the spectator.

This is a wonderful trick. I also use it for a trick other than the one that it’s meant for. Example: I show the cars and ask spectator to remember where a certain card is, then show them the card from top of deck to be in that same position. Well worth purchasing.

Reviewer

Pasquale

Absolutely to buy.
Really well studied and a good impact with the public.
A second routine is included, and I can guarantee you that it is exceptional.
Thank you

Reviewer

Freddy

Absolutely stunning!! Magic should be about the audience and this truly is all the audience. One of my favourite ever card tricks and I use it constantly

Reviewer

Ryan

This is absolutely amazing you can perform this completely hands off & let the spectator do all the work or take control & do the dealing etc.
Either way what you have here is a complete miracle with multiple surprises & a kicker ending.
The hardest thing you’ll have to do is remember the sequence of events but it really isn’t that difficult.
One word of warning though:
I tried to follow along as suggested on the download but my deck wasn’t set up correctly, if this is also the case for you, go straight to set up & after setting up correctly go back to the beginning & follow along.

Great effect, easy to perform, and I especially love that my spectator does all the work and is wowed at the end with multiple reveals. Reset is easy enough for walk-around, although I will get a second deck so I can always have one on me and one in my close-up bag. Already looking at customization options too. It would be good if there was an optional add-on for just same deck/cards but Pheonix. PS: it would also be great if trick decks started to come with the effect name in code on the bottom of the card box so I can easily know which decks are 'tricked out' versus regular.

Reviewer

Stuart

This is incredible! Getting the sequencing correct takes a little practice but the effect is insane. So well thought out, so smart. Fantastic.

It really is a very powerful and deceptive effect. It perfectly maintains the pace of the routine and makes it narrative and entertaining at the same time. In my case, I did not receive blank cards to adapt the instructions to my native language, but if you have a deck of white faces, you have an infinite number of possibilities to Fool us all!

I liked this trick very much. ID# introduced me to two. Very interesting principles that I had never seen before. To Paul Harris pointer Cohart idea is very deceptive, and some thing I would like to play around with some more. The R pool Wilson, version of the Jinks change is a great improvement and well worth anybody’s study.

Frankly, I am astonished at all the 5-star ratings. This trick may get great reactions (and perhaps this is what the ratings suggest), but it's far from self-working. It is not, in fact, "Fully Automated," being instead vastly complex (for the magician), difficult to sequence (with correct orientation) and far too easily revealed upon performance. I got half-way through the video and turned it off – this is not my kind of magic.

I'm a Santa Claus. For my purposes, magic is not the goal but a means to an end – demonstrating the answers I'm asked about time zones, chimneys, reindeer, "knowing" naughty and nice and much more. I can easily create a patter that makes most tricks relevant to that end. But this trick is only "good" for those who perform magic for magic's sake (a pretty wide audience, that excludes performers like me). So when I rate this as "Below Standard" it is my own standard it falls below.

  • asks: How quick is the reset, and can a different card be selected straight after?

    • 1. Kirk answers: So the answer avoided is NO !
    • 2. Brian answers: Reset takes me about 10 seconds and the spectator has a FREE CHOICE of where to stop. I give them the option of choosing the card that was just dealt onto the table, the one I'm about to deal or the one on top of the packet in my left hand and whichever they choose is the exact one that's used
    • 3. Thom answers: That’s not a NO, that’s a “it’s a free choice of when to stop dealing and they can actually choose which of three possible cards even then.” So that sounds like a YES.

  • Blake asks: A look at the trailer makes me suspect that this routine as shown would need refills/replacements after each performance. Is that true?...

    • 1. Brian answers: Absolutely not. I still use the exact same deck I bought over a year ago and no cards have been removed or added since day one and will last a lifetime

  • Alex asks: English is not my first language. Is it possible to customize the instruction cards, or do they all come printed?

    • 1. Ruiming answers: It comes with cards that have English instructions written on, so you can perform it right away. But it also comes with BLANK instruction cards so you can write anything you want on it. I hope it helps!

  • Rohail asks: I am a beginner magician with no slight of hand experience. is this trick suitable for me?

    • 1. Ruiming answers: Hi, this is a self-working trick. Your "assistant" (the spectator) does almost all the things for you. As long as they follow your instructions correctly (it's also a great opportunity to learn and practice controlling audience) and you do some extra work, it will freak people out! I think it is a great start for you to step into the magic world.
    • 2. Ryan answers: The hardest thing for you is to remember the sequence of events, it should take no more than an hour to fully get it

  • Michael asks: A few questions: 1. Does the explanation explain the trick as originally performed on Penn & Teller "Fool Us", and if so, can you perform the complete 1st edition version of the trick (provided you buy some Bicycle blank faced cards (and use some "arts and craft" efforts on the blank-faced cards? 2. In the above questions, is the "Did We Fool You" procedure explained and is it that ending for which you require the blank-faced cards? 3. If you want to, can you omit the "Did We Fool You" phase of the trick entirely...INCLUDING not having to buy or use the blank-faced cards? Or, are four extra cards (i.e., presumably blank cards (whether written on or not) necessary in order for the many sequences to be able to be properly executed? (For illustration purposes only, if we assume that the original first edition version of this trick used a deck of cards that is comprised of "X" number of cards, can the 1st edition version of the trick be performed starting with "X-4" number of cards? And, if that answer is "No", IF you elected to skip the final "Did We Fool You" ending, would you be able to perform the rest of the trick starting out with "X-4" number of cards?) Thanks for the requested information.

    • 1. Jim answers: 1. The explanation covers an improved version. Caleb explains on the explanation video that he made some improvements to the method since performing it on the show, and that is what is taught in the product. Could you do some art & crafts and duplicate the Fool Us performance? Yes, you could, once you understand the deck and study the explanation. 2. Instead of "Did We Fool You" the ending says: You - will - choose - the - three - of hearts. This is explained. 3. You get the deck, ready to perform out of the box. In FACT, if you follow along with the explanation video, Caleb has you perform the trick on yourself. Could you omit the ending? Sure—I see no reason why you couldn't. Regarding the numbers of cards, I would simply replace the blank "ending" cards with normal ones. That way, you don't have to alter the procedure at all. In my opinion, if you are going to perform with a deck like this, you should keep the ending in. Since you get the deck ready to go, there is nothing extra that you have to buy. I hope that helps!
    • 2. Jim answers: From the creator: 1. The trick is slightly improved from the Penn and Teller appearance. The main difference is that I no longer riffle shuffle the deck. While the riffle shuffle might make it more fooling for magicians (since there are no false shuffles involved), I think it slightly weakens the effect from the audience point of view (since I have a chance to manipulate the cards). I think leaning into the premise of making this more hands off is the way to go. The riffle shuffle relied on the deck being gimmicked in an odd way. The marketed version is NOT gimmicked in this way. 2. The "Did We Fool You" message can be customized with anything written on four blank cards. If you want to customize what's written on the back of the Jokers, you'd also need blank-backed Jokers to write on. 3. You can perform the trick without revealing the message cards at the end. In the marketed version, the final message says "You Will Choose The Three of Hearts."
