LIGHT - magic
LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT
LIGHT is much more visual than a typical card trick. It has an amazing moment and a charming presentation.

The effect:

You take out a deck of playing cards which are shuffled, and they ARE shuffled by you or your spectator. Any card can be selected (no force) and the card can even be signed if you want. You then take out a small light bulb and screw it into the middle of the card case. The card is lost in the deck and you place the card case on the table. You then take a card from the top of the deck and move it over the light bulb, nothing happens so you place this card aside. You do this again, one card at a time until suddenly the light bulb lights up on ONE card. You can show that this doesn’t happen with any other card. Only one will make the light bulb light up, the spectator’s card. You can then hand everything out for examination.

The gimmick can be used it for other tricks as well. It wouldn’t take much to adapt this into a living and dead test, a billet routine, or anything that involves finding a selection. It doesn’t have to be playing cards, and it’s fun to play with too!

Remember:

  • Simple to perform
  • No force
  • Takes up little pocket space
  • Unique visual effect
  • Instant reset
  • Start and end clean
  • Use any deck of cards
  • No gimmicked cards
  • Can be done with a borrowed deck
Suitable for close up and parlor magic.

  • Michael asks: Is the spectator's card a genuine freely selected card, and, can the effect be immediately repeated with a different card if you choose to do so? Thanks for the information.

    • 1. Fred answers: There are actually an almost unlimited number ways to do this trick. The card can be forced or as in the video freely selected. With a signed card, you don't even have to use any card sleights and can fully shuffle the deck. You can immediately repeat the trick with another card if you wanted.

  • Stephen asks: Can the light be triggered at a distance - or does the performers hand / card need to be close physically??

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: They need to be close.
    • 2. Irwin answers: Very close!
  • Derek asks: Is this related to FISM Flash? Presumably there's some charge time... is it completely silent when charging / discharging?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It is related but quite different. The restrictions of FISM Flash aren't existent here.
  • Scott asks: Can it be activated from distance. I was wanting to do spirit light seance effect :)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It cannot. It needs to be under the performer's control.
  • Gary asks: How easy is "easy to do" please as I have been duped many times by that description!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Sadly that's very difficult to answer because "easy" is subjective. It really is easy, but you would still need to practice is.
  • Gary asks: What is included in the complete package please?

    • 1. Eddie answers: You will receive a regular light bulb, gimmick, charging cable, a card with a hole on it and an online instruction
    • 2. Gary answers: Do you mean a card case with a hole on it? Do you get the marker pen?

  • Stephen asks: Can this be performed while wearing white, cotton gloves? (I am a local Santa Claus.)

    • 1. Eddie answers: I'm afraid that you can't, it's possible with the trick in the trailer but the gimmick can be flash

  • Royce asks: So is there any difficult sleight of hand involved? Easy is objective for sure and I am a beginner, so I want to get the best trick as possible to fit my skill set.

    • 1. Eddie answers: It's easy to do. You will learn some basic idea for this gimmick. In fact, it's an accessory and you can use it for many routines as well.

  • Mark asks: I'm only asking because I didn't see it in the trailer: can you flash the light when the spectator holds her card up to it?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The performer needs to be holding the card.
  • Kenneth asks: Can the gimmick be used in connection with other effects than cards?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It sure can. It's surprisingly versatile.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You can use any lightbulb!
  • John asks: How does the bulb screw into the card box? Is there simply a hole in the box? Doesn't the bulb tip over when it is screwed in?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's a small enough bulb that it doesn't top over (see the trailer).
  • Thomas asks: Please let me know,is this another trick that is suitable only for video

    • 1. SGKYDUYEN answers: Hi Thomas, It's a practical utility and you can use it for your live performance

  • Steve asks: Can the gimmick stay lit instead of a flash? Can it remain on and not just flash?

    • 1. Jim answers: No. In theory, if you hold the card over the lightbulb, it could stay lit, but it will it will not remain on when you move the card away from the bulb.
