A self-contained mentalism miracle that will confound and delight spectators, Word Up is a word search on a plastic card. However, when the word they mentally select disappears and instead appears on the rear of the card, eyes will pop and minds boggle! Even better, you can now hand it out for examination! "A beautiful piece of mentalism with a touch of magic. Very clever indeed."Peter Eggink

Customer reviews for Word Up

Tom

Just received the new "Word Up". Pros: well-made pocket-sized plastic prop; good for close-up/one-on-one mentalism effect. Will reset instantly. Card is examinable at the end. Nice spin on a word game, and it moves along quickly for the spectator, who really only has to make one mental choice--and it's controlled.

Cons: As often happens, the trailer is not quite accurate in its full depiction of the effect. This is because, even though the instructions say "No 'real' sleight of hand", there is indeed a sleight required, and it is crucial. Mr. Sagoo pretty much blows this off in the instructional video, too. Creating the moment for the sleight is actually more important than the move itself, although screwing up the sleight will be also be disastrous. You will have to be confident in your ability to do the sleight, and will need to be creative in some misdirection. This will require the most practice. Other cons: effect will be best with one person, alone; it will not be repeatable in a group setting/anywhere the spectator involved can say anything to the next spectator who may see the effect. In other words, there's only one, invariable force.
