The biggest leap that John has made with The Examiner is that not only can the paper be signed and looked at before but at the end of the effect everything can be handed out to be examined and the spectator can keep their signed paper! I came to purchase this after reading John's book Stage by Stage which I recommend to anyone looking to understand how a cohesive show is put together along with some nice material. I have to say that I have performed a few different News Paper Tears and this one is brilliant. The fact that it can be examined before and after makes this a great effect which you can leave with a spectator. I really like the fact that I end clean and everything is examinable. My additional advice to anyone considering ordering this is to also purchase one or two Jumbo Chisel point Marks-a-Lot markers while you are awaiting delivery. When mine arrived everything was dried up so I had to change out the parts. The wonderfully produced DVD includes instructions on the care and maintenance of the gimmick.
