A beloved classic performed by legendary magicians like Lance Burton and Doug Henning has been reimagined for the modern magician.

Robert Ramirez, along with Jim Steinmeyer, presents a brand-new take on the beloved “Aces Front” routine that first appeared in The Magic of Alan Wakeling. This is the first time the full routine has ever been released.

Using your “training deck of cards," you’re able to invite your audience behind the scenes to see how a magician learns magic tricks. Or, better yet, how a magician trains their playing cards to do card tricks.

A mini deck of cards is shuffled and placed inside a champagne glass. You then proceed to show how you’ve trained the deck to find the four Aces. Each Ace instantly appears in a series of increasingly-more impressive visual phases.

“Aces Front” is the perfect effect for everything from close-up magic shows to parlor magic and even virtual magic shows. It’s easy enough for beginners while also being powerful enough for seasoned professionals.

This complete set comes with everything you need to start performing this remarkable routine, including written and downloadable instructions, a mini deck of playing cards, the perfect champagne glass, a silk, rubber bands and all the necessary gimmicks.

You’ll learn Robert Ramirez’s revised routined, as well as Alan Wakeling’s original handling written by Jim Steinmeyer. Two previously unpublished bonus routines from Robert Ramirez are also included: a multi-phase color-changing mini deck routine, as well as a surprisingly easy to do visual routine known as “Shrink Wrapped” using a selected card and a rubber-banded deck.

  • Steven asks: Do you have to use the glass that it comes with or can you use any glass? And is the deck examinable?

    • 1. Craig answers: The glass has to be just wide enough for the deck and have a stem. The deck is not examinable.
    • 2. Robert Ramirez (creator) responds: You in theory could hand the deck to be shuffled and add the necessary cards. It would be super easy to do since the cards are small. This is a great piece that’s strong, stand up, and doesn’t require audience participation. A perfect hands free COVID friendly routine.

  • Jerry asks: What is the skill level needed to perform these effects?

    • 1. Jim answers: Medium. But your experience may differ, as this is purely subjective.
    • 2. Robert Ramirez (creator) responds: Any skill level can do this. It's one move that just takes practice. The silk speed will help. I include different color changes so you can do more advance moves or like the original handling from Alan Wakeling, the same change every phase. It's all great!
