Some background on Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards:
The renowned history of Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards began rather innocuously about 50 years ago when the famous Jerry’s Nugget Casino in Las Vegas mass-produced a new signature decks of cards for their table games. For reasons that are still unknown, these cards were never used in live action—and instead were stowed away in a Las Vegas storage unit. At the time, nobody was aware that they would eventually become the most sought after collectable deck of cards in the world.
A decade passed before Lee Asher happened upon these soon-to-be legendary playing cards. Jerry’s Nugget Casino had found the old stock and began selling them for $2 a deck as a souvenir in their gift shop. Lee’s keen eye noticed something special about these decks and quickly spread the word to anyone who would listen. The meteoric rise of Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards happened quicker than anyone could have ever imagined. Before long, bricks of these premium playing cards were being sold on the secondary market for $100s, and sometimes, $1000s.
By the late 1990’s, Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards had completely sold out. Which, of course, made them immensely more valuable. As they do, counterfeiters swiftly capitalized on this prime market by littering eBay with fake Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards. After years of watching this shameless act happen, Lee Asher collaborated with Expert Playing Card Company to uncover a way for these incredible playing cards to be reproduced—legally.
After 3 hectic years spent in tense licensing negotiations, Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards are finally available again!
