In short, this is THE ULTIMATE Rubik's cube routine for the stage. The market is now flooded with gaffed rubik's cubes and special props that are filled with electronics or flaps. But what few of these routines consider is how the piece will be PERFORMED. "Rubik Art" is the best of all worlds: it's a stunning, unexpected magic routine full of climaxes, each one better than the next. Taken together, it forms a routine ready to garner you a standing ovation in your next show. Creators Gustavo Serano and Gonçalo Gil have created a sensational routine which can be performed for one person, or one thousand. Each reveal is more impossible than the last, and best of all, it's portable.
On stage, there is a large object hidden under a red cloth. As you explain that you will reveal what's underneath very soon, you introduce two Rubik's Cubes. One is mixed up, and you explain that this is your prediction. It is left in full view the entire time. The other cube is solved, so you ask somebody to mix it up (and sign it too if they want!).
The performer then turns to a second participant and shows him or her a a pile of index cards, each with the name of a celebrity, or character on. The spectator is asked to choose one and show it to the audience. They choose Albert Einstein.
Now comes the "gasp" moment. You remove the cloth covering the mystery object to reveal that it is 100 cubes, all perfectly arranged to create an image of Albert Einstein. But something is missing. One cube is missing. As you ask the spectator for the cube which they mixed, the audience will mentally race ahead of you. Even though the odds are astronomically small, you insert the cube into the hole to reveal that the participant mixed it into the exact position necessary to complete the picture.
As if the odds were not already small enough... you still have one more stunning reveal to come. Drawing attention back to the "prediction cube" that you left on display at the beginning, you explain that there really was only one combination which was a perfect match. Removing the spectator's mixed cube from the frame, you show that it perfectly matches your prediction on every side! You hand everything out for examination and, along with your participants, receive a deserving ovation from the audience.
