After completely selling out at Magifest and Blackpool, “Thin Air” from Ignacio Lopez is finally available worldwide.

“Thin Air” is one of the most versatile utility devices we’ve ever offered. Hidden beneath the surface of this seemingly innocent silk lies one of the easiest and most practical ways to produce, vanish or switch playing cards, business cards, photos, lottery tickets, billets…or any other similar item.

Here are just a few ways to use “Thin Air”:

  • Producing a full deck of cards for the perfect card magic opener
  • An impossible torn and restored card effect using a signed playing card
  • A squeaky clean business card or playing card transposition
  • Switching hand-written notes for the easiest force ever
  • Swapping out audience-filled lottery tickets for pre-filled lottery tickets featuring the winning numbers
  • An incredibly fair and simple serial number divination with a borrowed bill
  • Making coins magically appear prior to your favorite coin trick
  • …and so much more!

“Thin Air” is elegant enough for a parlor magic performance while also being portable and durable enough for close-up magic. If you ever perform seated at a table, you’ll find that there’s even some bonus advantages built into the design of “Thin Air”.

Magicians and mentalists of any skill level will be able to use “Thin Air” in less than 60 seconds.

Each set comes with the expertly-crafted, premium “Thin Air” silk and complete instructions, including a dazzling playing card routine that showcases the full capability of “Thin Air”. You’ll also receive a special bonus video featuring a variety of other applications and will gain access to the exclusive “Thin Air” Facebook group where other magicians will share their most creative ideas.

Please Note: "Thin Air" does require a few seconds of prep prior to performing. As such, while it resets in seconds and can be used for close-up magic, it's not designed to be used for table-hopping.

This effect is amazing, very easy to learn, even for beginers. The explanation is made very well and in depth so that anyone can understand it and perform the trick right out of the box. It is perfect for any card trick opener, but not just, with some practice, creativity and time it can be integrated in many card routines and tricks beside the ones teached in the download videos. I think it is an amazing product for a cheap price, worth to invest into and i cant wait to receive it, and get my hands on! For this price i am even thinking if i should buy a second one for the case this is gonna wear out, because i know i am going to perform with this hankerchief alot and adapt it probably at every card trick i know. I think every magician should know at least two or three hankerchief tricks and if you dont know any this will help you look like a pro magician who knows dozens of hankerchief tricks! This product will definetly improve your magic and take it a level further whitout any need to learn any new skill or sleight of hand, it does almost all the work by itself, it just needs a lil bit of preparation, but it is a hundread procent angle proof which means you can perform it completely sorounded. Just pack it out of your chest pocket and start doing some beautifull magic for your audience. Have fun whith it if you choose it! I know i will!

This is excellent and something that will definitely get used as opposed to laying in a bottom drawer.

The tutorials are clear, short and to the point but cover everything.

Very nice, smooth silk. The video instruction is short and direct to the point. Well done, and I am every happy I made this purchase. The solid color makes this very unobtrusive so the audience is more likely to conclude you are using awesome slight of hand rather than a gimmick.

I use this to hide some gimmicks aces. So I conjure the faces in the Thin Air out of nowhere. It allows me to have a spectator take four aces from a deck. I vanish them and then replace with my cards.

Simple yet amazingly baffling. Love it.

I initially wasn’t going to get one because I knew exactly how it worked…..
However, it was priced right and the effect is pretty so I said why not.
Fools everyone I’ve shown it to and has left a mark on some folks which really suppressed me.
I’ve added this to the same box in my mind as a thumb tip, as I believe as obvious as it is to a magician…. It’s a brain fryer to a non-magician.
It’s fun to use and perform. Highly recommended

I have not performed with Thin Air, but will soon. The possibilities are endless. The video instructions are top notch. This is a great tool to produce, vanish or change items. Cannot wait until I am ready to show this to people. I already know they will be amazed and entertained.
Get this item. Lots of people say things like, "you will not be disappointed". I am not a professional, but a hobbyist. However, this is top notch. I have been doing magic as a hobby for over 50 years and I can definitely attest that this one will be in my shows for sure. Other effects wane with age or do not match everyone's style. This tool literally can be adapted for any style and I can confidently say, with a minimum of practice, anyone can be seen as a first class performer.

The video instructions from Lopez are good and give some basic handlings. The two videos produced by Vanishing Inc are exceptional and very informative. They are worth the price of the effect alone. Please give this one a try and I daresay you will be as thrilled as I am. There is a low number of effects produced that many magicians will get excited about, this one should be on every magician's wish list, it is truly that good. Take this old magician's word for it.

The effect is great and easy to perform. Like in the video trailer, it is exactly what you see and even fooled myself for a minute, haha. Graet opening effect and a couple other great ideas I got for this gimmick. All around five stars!!!! Get this one, you will not regret it. Worth the purchase price...

Trick thinair is simple and amazing , but the only problem is flashing, because it may be shown to gullible people with ease, but smart ones will definitely know that something is fishy with that flap of silk. And the moment you try another trick with this , they will know the whole idea behind it,the second issue is reset, which apparently can not be done before everybody eyes. Therefore not sure to use it in my routines.I feel sad when reputed magic companies don’t reveal shortcomings like such .

What a great utility item! It’s not often something that looks like trick photography on social media turns out to also be incredibly practical, usable, and DECEPTIVE for in person performances. Highest Recommendation!

I really love the concept and you can use this with multiple items, not just cards. The quality is very good........ but........ the shades of black are different on different parts of the silk which is very noticeable and really bothers me. I don't think a spectator will really notice or care but it is something that is there and is very noticeable. Overall I think this is a great prop to have, there are so many applications that it can be used for. The price might be a little high but not extremely over priced. I definitely would recommend this to everyone!

Beautiful prop and SUPER well made. It’s not everyday you find something beautiful enough to do on social media, yet practical enough to open a close up show with. It’s clear that if treated with care, it will last for years to come.

I really like this. I am going to use it to open a performance. The silk will be sat on the table, then I'll produce my props. It's perfect!

This is a really good review and positioning tutor for this setup. Sometimes the more subtle aspects of readying the gimmick for the trick are overlooked - but this explains in very simple terms the need to 'fold and flip' the trick for ANY preparation at all. I was just asking myself in my head, "What about the seam?" and here (or there) is the answer. Again - subtle - but so important.

ThinAir is a great utility device to switch, vanish or appear many flat objects. It packs small, plays big. The black silk has an elegant, simple look. I highly recommend this for its wide adaptability and simple mechanism.

This was on my wishlist for months before I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy it.

Though I could work out the concept before it arrived this is well made and great quality and I probably couldn't have made this myself for the same cost.

The only downside with the effect is there's no quick reset that can be done in sight of anyone and does require the reset to be done away from prying eyes which does then limit its use within a performance but it's a great opener if you have the chance to setup before

Joe

Saw Sean as a problem before you show instructions very good

Very nicely made silk. Does exactly what it’s advertised to do. The “wiggle” part looks super cool and when the production happens it seems that much more impossible.

Creative idea, but not especially practical outside of being an opener that’s already set up and waiting on a surface. As for quality, fabric should’ve been heavier and more efforts could’ve been taken to both hide the secret and make the “move” easier to accomplish. Love ya guys, but this could’ve been done better.

Community questions about Thin Air (Ignacio López)

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Guy asks: Can this be used on a hard surface including glass or wood?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: While it is possible to be used on a hard surface, we recommend putting some kind of pad underneath.
  • Kevin asks: Is this anything like the Go Go Vanisher

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The method is very different.
  • Len asks: My favorite question:):) I'm a real beginner, will this be easy for me to use?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes! It's VERY easy to use.
  • Vince asks: Is this similar to David Regal's "ARRIVAL"?

    • 1. Stephen answers: Totally different design on the gimmicks. The only thing similar is that they are silks
    • 2. Robert answers: It looks like it's similar, but more of a simple design than the Arrival gimmick. I would think having both would be a great addition.
    • 3. Robert answers: I guess my point was even if it was the same, Arrival is used differently and this would be a great addition.

  • Chris asks: Is it suitable for walk around, or do you have to set up privately?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: While it resets in just a few seconds, we wouldn't call it the ideal walkaround trick. The full deck production would not work for walkaround (unless you were REALLY sneaky). But there are some things taught in the bonus video though that can be used for walk-around. You really just need about 2 seconds of privacy and you're good to go.
  • Claude asks: Can this be used in a table hopping/walk around environment?

  • Mark asks: Can you give us an idea of how much set-up is required for something like the reveal with what appears to be a ribbon-spread full deck? How much of what is seen in the promo could you do if you're walking up to a table, say? Or does much of what he does in the video assume you have time (and privacy) to set up while seated and waiting for participants to come up to you?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: For the full deck production, it only takes about 10 seconds to set up. But, it is being done assuming that you'll be already seated or established. There are some tricks taught in the bonus section though that you could do in walkaround with just a bit of sneakiness. We have private Facebook Group though, and I'm sure magicians from around the world will come up with some new clever walkaround stuff.
  • Jack asks: Hi, is this actually made of silk? If not, can you please say what material is used? Thank you!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's made of a blend of synthetic and real silk.
  • Chris asks: Hi - how practical is it to carry the silk around? Can it be folded and put in your pocket and then prepped for performance?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It's very easy to cary. It can be folded, tossed in a pocket, put in a backpack. It's very durable. There's nothing to worry about breaking. Once you take it out, you'll need just a few seconds to get it set up. There is a bit of sneaky business needed. So, depending on the routine you're doing, it might not always be ideal for a true table-hopping.
  • Davi asks: Can the silk be examinable by the spectator in the end of the trick?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The silk cannot be examined.
  • Oliver asks: Can 1 or 2 rubiks cubes be produced out of this?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: A Rubik's Cube would be too thick. This worst best for flat items.
  • Corey asks: Any suggestions on removing the fold lines?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: A light ironing should take care of it
  • Micah asks: Is lapping required?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Depending on the routine you'd like to do.
  • Robert asks: Is the silk too large or thick to be vanished after the production/reveal using a TT?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes.
  • Perry asks: Hello, can this be used to switch out a deck of cards in its box? A deck switch?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: That is possible but it might be a little bulky. It's better with flat objects.
  • Todd asks: Could this be used to vanish a coin - Morgan of walking liberty? Or make one appear?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It can make a coin appear for sure!
  • Todd asks: Need the other half answered: could it make a Morgan coin disappear?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It would not work due to the sound.
