Even A Fire Can't Hold Us Back

Vanishing Inc. Warehouse Fire

Last night, June 6th, our warehouse in Sacramento was involved in a serious fire. We’re eternally grateful that the fire happened in off-hours, and none of our staff was harmed.

Our warehouse was our company’s headquarters for more than a decade, and a source of great memories for us all. There were pictures on the wall of our earliest days, our company trip to Las Vegas, and family pictures from our fellow team members. The warehouse sadly has burned to the ground. The roof caved in and we’re heartbroken to learn that nothing was salvageable.

Our priority—now and always—is our staff. They are family to us, and many have been with us since our founding. We intend to be back to work, shipping your orders, and creating the dazzling magic you’ve come to expect from us as soon as possible.

We have always believed that our greatest strength as a company is in our planning. We aren’t actual mentalists, but we have planned for eventualities just like the one we woke up to this morning. As the ashes of our warehouse are still smoldering, we’ve put our plan into action. We have off-site storage, a new plan for shipping and acquisitions, and we have a plan in place to get your orders out as fast as we possibly can. We’re also able to focus on our digital properties: downloads, masterclass, and ebooks.

For now, we humbly ask for your understanding as our plan of action rolls into place.

We have assured our entire team—47 of the absolute best humans we know of—that their jobs are safe. We told them, this morning, that we know we will rebuild better and stronger than ever before. You know how we know that?

It’s because of you. You and customers like you are the wellspring of this company. We’ve traveled with you on our Retreats, we’ve celebrated with you at our conventions. We’ve shared magic together through our books, tricks, and downloads. Thanks to you, we’re certain that we can be back, stronger than before, faster than anyone expects.

Thanks to everyone for your understanding. We’re hard at work already. While we anticipate just a short delay in shipping operations, we hope you’ll continue to support our team and our business–you can continue to place orders and they’ll be shipped out as soon as humanly possible.

This was a tough morning for Vanishing Inc., but already we’re feeling motivated and grateful for all of your support.

Terrible news. All the best for rebuilding this.
When possible my next magic order will be coming your way. Take as long as you need to deliver it.

Dear Joshua, Andi and the entire VI family,

It is shocking and saddening to read about the fire at your warehouse. It sounds absolutely devastating, especially losing all those irreplaceable memories. The most important thing, of course, is that everyone is safe, and I'm incredibly relieved to hear that no one was injured (or worse).

Your resilience and proactive planning are genuinely inspiring. It's clear how much you value your team and how dedicated you are to getting back on your feet quickly. Your commitment to your customers is also heartwarming—continuing to take orders and focusing on your digital offerings shows a real commitment to keeping the magic alive!

As a testament to the strength of the VI community, I assure you that we, your loyal customers, will stand by you during this rebuilding process. The resilience and determination you have shown are a true inspiration, and I have no doubt that Vanishing Inc. will emerge from this stronger than ever.

During this challenging time, please remember that you are not alone. If there's anything your customers can do to support you, whether it's placing an order, sharing the word, or simply sending positive thoughts, we are all here, ready to help in any way we can.

Wishing you and your entire team the very best during this difficult time.

Is there a fund or some manner in which we can support the staff during this difficult time? Please let the community know. Thanks.

Good luck with everything.
I'm really sorry to hear of the bad news.
Try not to worry about my order.
It's just items, they can be replaced.
People can't.
Hope you sort things out.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. It's a great relief that no one was hurt. But still a terrible loss more for thr personal memories of thr employees and irreplaceable photos and memories. Is there a gofundme site or other site for donations?

I would hope this is the first stage of a huge magic trick, (The reappearing magic shop) but in case it is not, I am not at all surprised at the professionalism displayed, after spending the past few years dealing with a most amazing team of people, who are always respectful and magical. I am sure you'll grow from this experience and along the way, we the customers will all be at your side.
