A standout hit at Blackpool 2026, “Captivate” by Christian Grace is the cleanest card-to-hat we’ve ever seen.

A card is selected, signed, and lost back into the pack. You take off your baseball cap and hold it at the fingertips, showing it completely empty. With just a little shake, a full card appears inside. (Before you ask, no, it isn’t Mercury Card Folded.) You remove the card, and impossibly, it's their signed selection. No palming. No black art. No gimmicked hats. It’s that clean.

“Captivate” is a modern card-to-impossible-location that is easy to do, resets in seconds, and hits audiences hard. The precision-made gimmick is handmade by WangZhe and does almost all of the hard work for you. It works with almost any baseball cap, and looks phenomenal in close-up, parlor, social media, or even on stage.

Not a hat person? No worries. Christian Grace teaches a handling where you borrow a hat and load the gimmick right under their nose. It’s completely invisible.

“Captivate” is available in two versions:

Backer: The card appears face-down in the hat, allowing you to perform “Captivate” with a signed card.

Facer: By having the card appear face-up, they’ll see the moment when their card appears in the hat. It can’t be a signed card, but it still looks incredible.

“Captivate” sold out at Blackpool 2026, and we expect it to sell out again. Order it now before it does!

FAQ:
Do I need a special hat?
Nope! “Captivate” works with most baseball caps, including borrowed ones. You can even do it with those mesh-backed trucker caps.

How difficult is “Captivate”?
Super easy! The action needed to make the card appear is gently shaking the hat from side to side. Christian teaches multiple handlings which vary a bit in skill level, but “Captivate” is within the skill level of most card magicians.

Customer reviews for Captivate

Another strong release from Christian Grace! The method for Captivate is delightfully simple and elegant, but so fooling; I had no idea how it worked until I watched the explanation, and the method does not disappoint. While I have a teensy touch of concern about the longevity of a relatively fragile gimmick, I imagine it will last a long time with proper care and consideration. As usual, Christian has thought of everything as far as making this a practical, workable piece; no stone is left unturned.

A clever trick! While the gimmick is a bit fragile, if handled properly and stored properly as Christian explains, it should last for many, many tricks. I appreciate how he shows how NOT to handle the gimmick and actual breaks one to demonstrate what NOT to do! But as for the choice between the Facer and Backer, if you are uncomfortable with card swapping or sleigh of hand, for sure go with the Facer for simplicity. The video goes over both gimmicks so if you change your mind, contact Vanishing Inc immediately to see if they can change the order (no guarantees here - I am not speaking for them!)

Very clever comes with two videos i would suggest to watch the first video for a few minutes as he starts with a basic handling followed by what you get and how not to break the gimmick should be the other way round I was confused as it states I his add it's very fragile yet this isn't the first part in the video? The video and the gimmick is great very clever comes with everything you need the videos is an add and the one I received with the gimmick was I found out is stream only so I contacted vanish Inc as always they were very helpfull and sent me the correct ink, but even if u select the v link which should save this on the Vimeo platform but you have to select options click on another link otherwise it won't save in vimeo but still doesn't play on Vimeo of you do click on the second link such hard work to just watch a #;""## video the gimmick is great.
