Countdown Repeat

“What a great idea to open a show! So original! Another brilliant idea from Gonzalo!” Héctor Mancha

The Six Card Repeat has been a classic for almost a century. But it has one problem: once the audience understands that six cards keep appearing, where do you go from there?

You count six cards. You drop some on the floor. You count six cards again.

The effect repeats, but the magic doesn't build.

Gonzalo Albiñana found a way to turn that weakness into a strength. With Countdown Repeat, five numbered cards become a countdown to the start of the show. You produce them, count them down, and drop them to the ground.

"The show starts in five, four, three... Wait, are you ready? You are? Then let's start in five, four..."

Cards are discarded, then return. Numbers repeat, change, go backward, and become visual gags. Every sequence creates a new surprise, building toward a destination that may or may not be zero.

Created after years of exploring the Six Card Repeat, Countdown Repeat is more than a new presentation of the classic. It's a modular system that gives you seven core setups to learn, adapt, and combine into your own routine. And there's an important detail: every card can be examined by the audience at the beginning, establishing the conditions of the effect before the magic starts.

You'll receive specially designed, numbered cards that give the routine a clear presentation with a design that keeps the method hidden in plain sight.

Gonzalo will teach you his full routine, including multiple configurations, sequences, loads, visual gags, surprises, presentations, and endings. Three recordings of live performances show how Gonzalo adapts the material for different audiences and venues, demonstrating just how much you can do with this incredible effect.

You also get a collection of additional downloads, an 80-page ebook exploring the effect and its history, and a bonus featuring three more routines and methods from Gonzalo's book En Blanco, created during his challenge to invent a new piece of magic every day for 365 consecutive days.

This is one of those rare pieces of magic that everyone can see themselves doing. It's flexible enough to use in just about any situation, adapting the structure, gags, and presentation to suit the occasion. Perform it as an opener, an MC piece, or a routine for children or adults. Make it quick, stretch it out, or take it in an entirely different direction.

Countdown Repeat takes a century-old classic and gives it something it's always needed: a reason to keep watching.

We think you'll love it. So go on. Buy it in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
