Any trick where you leave the spectator with a souvenir is great. And any souvenir that is an IMPOSSIBLE OBJECT is even better. “Split Decision” is just such a trick.

The inspiration behind the trick came from a common problem for any card magician. A spectator misremembered her chosen card. So when I asked for the name of the selection, I got two answers: “The Four of Clubs.”

“No it wasn’t. You picked the Six of Hearts.”

What do you do? Now you can do “Split Decision.” Imagine CREATING this scenario, where you secretly CAUSE two spectators to misremember the same card. And after both cards have been named, you tear a card into two pieces and show one half as one card and THE OTHER HALF AS THE SECOND CARD. YET THE PIECES STILL FIT.

This trick is not new, but it continues to sell well, mostly among professionals, because they understand the impact of such a simple, strong premise. This is the kind of trick I like best: easy to follow, utterly impossible, and it leaves them with two impossible pieces of card. It also leaves them with an incredible story.

Split Decision comes with a studio-filmed DVD instructional video as well as 16 special cards.
