The fantastic first booklet in a series devoted to out-of-the-ordinary, memorable magic techniques. Some are atypical, while others are daring. But one thing is certain: Subtle Secrets 1 will make you view your magic from a different angle.

A perfect example of the type of magic included in this 27-page booklet is a fun origami-themed effect. You hold up a card featuring a variety of folded designs and let them choose one while you look away. You then put a piece of paper in your mouth and fold it—using only your tongue—to match the chosen design.

There are also ways to tear and restore a card in the neatest way possible, as well as impossible teleportations of small objects and mind-blowing transformations.

The required gimmicks are easy to make, inexpensive, and unlock a wide range of possible effects. Everything is explained in perfect detail.

Contents Overview

  • An original version of the reconstructed torn card
  • An origami prediction
  • A convincer for the reconstituted bitten card
  • A madcap effect with a paper dumpling

Everything uses novel methods that will make you smile with their originality! Don't miss out on this limited-edition booklet of underground techniques.

Customer reviews for Subtle Secrets 1

Jose
I shouldn't have bought this book, and you probably shouldn't either. The author states himself that the book took too long to come out because he tends to be more into theory, and that shows throughout the book. The book is called "secrets", but it really should be called "ideas", because these don't seem to have been tried out. It contains three routines: 1 - The Reconstituted Torn Card: no torn card method is presented, merely an idea to make a piece of card disappear; 1 page long; 2 - The “truly” Bitten Card: just an idea to, instead of pretending to bite a piece of a card without taking anything into your mouth, still pretend to bite it but actually take something along and make it disappear inside your mouth; 1 page long; 3 - Origami - an idea of how to seemingly switch a piece of paper for a small origami (which you have to come up with) in your mouth; 3 pages long, but could have been shorter. Sadly, these are not test and tried routines; there isn't even presentation, merely something that someone believes could be a good idea for a method. The fact that the author hasn't pursued his own idea should be proof enough that there are better methods out there to achieve the same results. Looking back, the 50% discount should have been a red flag; $20 was still too much, as this book could have been a couple of facebook posts in a magicians' group.
