Level One

I was extremely lucky to get my hands on this early, and it's was love at first sight.

The effect involves a gimmick and a little slight of hand, which isn't very hard to learn, and was actually really fun to play about with.

What is really great about the gimmick for me is the size. Even with a 2 piece suit I find it hard to find space for a new gimmicks without making room, but if you can fit a pen, you most likely can fit this.

The effect is strong and visual as you can tell from the trailer, but what's important to note is that the angle is indeed forgiving, and not just a camera trick. I perform this to large groups without fear.

The tutorial teaching is clear, and goes through the main vanish, then teaches us how to set up, and to end clean.

I'm hard pressed to think of a negative about this one. You are very likely to flash if you don't practice...but that is most tricks. Apart from that, learning to set up the trick while performing is a little hard, but definitely worth the time

the download video doesnt include live performances, as mentioned in the blog post. no routines/applications were shown, as stated in the blog post. disappointed because of that! otherwise it seems doable and i am looking foreward to see the reactions of the spectators.

hope there will be a different video in the downloadsection, that delivers on the promisses.

I have been vanishing decks at the bar for a while...but when I saw this I immediately clicked and bought it. I can't wait. After watching the instructional, I can say this is a complete worker in every sense. I foresee this as not only a deck vanish, but a deck switch and transposition in the works ready to come. You are going to have one of those, "why didn't I think of that" moments, but I am happy Christian thought of it and brought it to market. Game changer!

Surely an early contender for the release of 2019...When Christian first showed me this, I got hit with that same feeling which got most of us in to magic - utter bewilderment! He then showed me what the gimmick was, performed it again, and that feeling didn’t change. This is instagram magic made for the real world...as well as taking up virtually no pocket space, the gimmick will last you a lifetime! An incredible bit of thinking from one of the nicest men in magic.

This is probably the most complete deck vanish I've seen in a long time. From the gimmick to the tutorial Christian has thought of everything.

The tutorial is taught in a logical manner and answers all the questions you are going to ask just as you think of them.

I would 100% recommend this to any magician out there!

this is genius. The type of thing you can have ready to perform at any time at a moments notice. Truly amazing visually. This is never going to let you down in performance, its very easy to get to grips with. This effect will go with me everywhere from now on.

This effect is something of pure beauty. Taught very well, goes over every detail. The best part about this entire project is the extra routines and thoughts on the Facebook group. This is a must buy for anyone looking for this kind of effect!

A great effect, but oversimplified as far as the handling goes. You had better have nimble fingers and a bit of dexterity. Large hands won't hurt either. If you have any issues with arthritis or finger dexterity, don't waste your money. This will need a lot of practice to pull off well or you will surely drop the gimmick and expose the trick. Hoping that I can pull that off before it winds up in the unused gimmick drawer. Solid gimmick that will last a lifetime, but....

It’s not what you think it will be if you know how most deck vanishes work and it is simple yet devilishly clever I love level one. It great fairly easy to use when you get the nack for it and gets great reactions from my experience.

Definitely the trick of the year! I was surprised at how easy this one. After ten minutes, I had the basics down. After another hour, I was very comfortable with it. Excellent product, gimmick and explanation.

The best vanishing deck I have ever seen!!

When i first saw this performed it blew my mind. The gimmick itself if amazing and you can tell alot of work and thought have gone into this product. Its one piece and pretty much unbreakable. The tutorial for this is very in depth and full of information and to top it all off there is a private Facebook group dedicated to this gimmick with a brilliant community already with lots of people sharing tip and help to different performance ideas so you and use this in alot of different applications for example there is a brilliant phone camera trick you can do incorporating this gimmick... Took me roughly an hour or so of practice to get this down to a fair decent standard... Overall 10 out of 10 ????

When I received the gimmick (I don't watch the "how to" until I receive the item), my first reaction was "uhh...no %&#$@ way is this going to work." How wrong I was. NO STRINGS, NO FLAPS, SMALL GIMMICK, NEARLY ANGLE PROOF. This is everything you could want in a deck vanish...aside from making the entire deck vanish. You are left with one card..or two..depending on what you're doing. I pulled this off multiple times with very little practice. I do have smaller hands so I had to really pay attention to some minor buckling. Loosen up the grip, and all is good! EXCELLENT PRODUCT! THANKS!

Level one is THE best vanishing deck you will get your hands on, I never leave the house without it! There’s a way to bring it into almost any routine!

Level One was one of the most talked about effects at Blackpool, and witnessing Christian demo this at the Vanishing Inc. stand, it was a sight to behold. Undoubtedly a contender for trick of the year, Christian has created a gimmick that ticks all the boxes for a graceful effect. This will be your new EDC. Taking up minimal pocket space, not only does Level One look great on camera for social media, Level One can also be worked seamlessly into an impromptu card effect. The tutorial is an excellent production and Level Ones Facebook group has amassed some great exchanges of ideas, and Christians support is second to none. I look forward in anticipation for Christians continued creations, as Level One is truly next level!

It’s even fun to practice! Not something that you’ll be doing perfectly in 2 minutes. Takes a little time to get it right. The Facebook group is full of helpful tips and routines. I love it.

Level One is exactly what I expected and well made. I viewed this as a purchase of the explanation of moves provided in the tutorial. I have not been a big fan of card magic in the past but I will use this in conjunction with other card tricks to enhance the overall performance. A little practice will be necessary. I would recommend this to other magicians who might use a deck of cards in their performances. There are a number of tricks which could be combined with that would make sense.

This gimmick is really good and the vanish is very visual however you can not perform it surrounded even though the ad copy says you can and the teaching is absolute crap. It was really confusing and christian did not even say a word.

This is an amazing gimmick, wasn’t on board with it at first but after a month or so messing around with become more comfortable performing it, it is a powerful piece of magic.

It is what I thought it would be. Happy I did not have to do it myself. No prototyping, just start to play. Also nice video.

I am up to 600 minutes of practice and it still looks awful. Yes - it is seems like a great effect and the gimmick is well made and will last a long time. But do not be mislead. This will take work.
That said - I am really looking forward to mastering this in a few weeks and trying it out.

I am sorry to have purchased this product. It's not worth much, and if it had been my first purchase from this fine store, I'd have questioned their integrity.

I got this few months ago, till now I never leave home without it, it's the perfect closure and ending trick to my close up act whether it was a street performance or a restaurant gig, leave your audience with a visual impossible effect that they will remember forever.

S, this gimmick is super simple, creative and fun! I truly did not expect the inventiveness of the design and it's simplicity.It can be used for as many things as your imagination can devise. It requires only a minimal amount of practice compared to some gimmicks but packs a great visual punch. i have added it to my Ambitious Card routine and am loving the direction it is taken me. i definitely say that, for the price, this is a winner!

Spent a solid nights practice with this and love it! This effect can fit any magician's character. You'll have to develop you're own routine with it , but that's all part of the fun!!! The deck vanishes in two phases right before their eyes. What else could you ask for in a deck vanish???

This is going straight to my professional repertoire and I am sure will stay there for years to come just like the venom cube and my slot okito box. Truly magical , not overpriced, instructions are clear, gimmick looks like it will last forever, a Facebook page of people that owns it sharing their ideas and routines, couldn’t have ask for more to be honest.
If you are on the fence of buying this and you are an intermediate magician that already knows basic moves of card handling and misdirection you will not be disappointed, this will be the best finale for your ACR.

Absolutely fantastic. The most versatile deck vanish I've come across. It's perhaps more knacky (and with some angle concerns) than some of the ad copy and Christian's Q&A have suggested. The item may seem surprisingly minimal, but the trick itself is actually wonderfully clever, and if it goes well it genuinely leaves a sense of wonder in the observer.

Incredible trick! It takes some time to perfect but otherwise it is pretty easy to perform! There is a small setup but not to much. As performance angles go, it can be done about 180 degrees around. Anyone who is behind could see an exposed view.

Not sure what I expected to receive when I ordered this but this definitely wasn't it. This is an incredible tool for ending a card routine or even as an effect itself. The item is very well made and is quite resilient. I would say that it's best to keep it either in a pouch or away from things such as keys and definitely don't get it wet.

Without revealing too much some dexterity is required and the ability to perform a double lift will greatly improve one of the possible routines.

At first I wasn't overwhelmed by the video instructions, however once I received the gimmick and was able to practice along with the video it was fine. Not amazing but it served it's purpose. There are also several full routines actually included too that more than make up for the initial video.

I would definitely recommend this as an alternative ending to an ambitious card routine although I'm sure others will find other uses for it. There's also a Facebook group you can join where people contribute their own routines.

Overall a great product although let down by some below average instructions. Especially when compared to Vanishing Inc's usual ones.

You receive a gimmick along with a video download of Level One. Once you get setup you will need endless amounts of practice (and I mean endless). This trick isn't for the faint of heart. I left the gimmick on my desk and picked it up every time I passed by. After about a month of dedicated practice I started using it for walk around gigs. The reactions were decent but not worth the hours of dedication involved. Angles are an issue so be aware. Overall, this is a great concept but not the most calculated gimmick.

Very good looks very magical

Clever gimmick and easy to learn from the video instructions. Though, I’m not sure if I understand the trend of no talking on instructional videos. It’s certainly not hard to learn from the non-verbal instruction, and I understand the benefit of language-agnostic instructions, but I prefer videos that verbalize the subtleties, nuances, and handling tips.

I haven't received it yet but I am stunned at the just watching the how-to video as to the simple genius of this. Makes sense. It's direct for the audience. It's easy to bring in and out from what I can tell and what a way to hit the spectator(s) with something they don't see coming in revealing a chosen card. What I really liked was how the training video was made. It was mimed the entire time with relaxing chill music in the background yet every single possible move was so easy to understand what was being conveyed. This alleviated the sometimes-hard-to understand accents of a the individual teaching or poor audio etc. Excellent! Can't wait to start incorporating this into my routines. Easy to carry around for an impromptu performance. Thanks for all of the hard work on this!

So, I dont give bad reviews, and I dont think its "Below standard" but its not pretty good. This is great in theory, its not "easy to use straight out the box" that may just be for me, but ive spent thousands on magic and I know a good product when I hold one. if this was 15$ it would be awesome, but it misses the mark by a good bit.

Nicely done!simplicity at it's best .surely something you will carry in your pocket. Along with your thumb tip, ring flight ,cards, coins .ect... strong visual effect without having to add a bundle of material to your walk around props. If your going lite you want this stunner in your arsenal .be ready to have the hash tag miracle worker next to your name. Strong visual effect.

This video provides exquisite attention to detail -- many thanks! This is an excellent level of quality for others to emulate. I do not want to denigrate anyone else's work, but how wonderful it would be if everyone would use such diligence to produce video instructions!

Not for beginners. Will require hours of practice to finesse what is done in the video. Scathingly clever. Angle sensitive.
Otherwise, brilliantly conceived. Bravo. I'm practicing it daily.

This is a very clever gimmick. I have small hands and short fingers but after playing around and making some adjustments to placement this is a real fooler. Even bringing it in to play was easy with the right misdirection and taking it back out was easier. I would recommend it

Great gimmick, ingenious trick. I'm basically a plantigrade when it comes to card handling, and yet this trick works (almost) effortlessly. Let's say it took me longer to use a pencil than to learn the handling. Amazing.

This trick definitely takes some work but I’m having a lot of fun with it. It looks great and the gimmick is solid. I know the ad copy already said that but wow it is so simple and strong. If you get this, plan on putting it in your will.

I waited a few weeks before writing this review only because my initial thoughts were that I needed more practice. Just know that you need above average finger dexterity with the ability to do this at the correct angle. Once I received the gimmick my first thought was how horribly overpriced this thing is. While it is a brilliant concept and the visual is good, the price is, well....I suppose if you throw in the instructional video (with absolutely no talking just sub titles...wait, what?) you can justify the cost. Finally, the move is just plain difficult and it is hard to replicate what you see in the trailer. However, this is my experience, yours can be much better. I won't be using this effect, though. It was not what I was expecting.

A lot of vanishing deck gimmicks don't last very long. But this is a solid state gimmick and this is going to last a lifetime. It's knacky but it's worth putting the time in to practice. The effect is visual and you end really clean too.

the method for this trick is so far off the mark from anything I would expect! It is super clever and very cool. the handling itself is not easy. It will definitely take some practice, but I can see myself getting better and better each session. I love that the gimmick will absolutely last forever.

I was familiar with this product before getting it but had not had the chance to play with it. I've been working with it for several weeks now and I'll reiterate what others have mentioned; this is non-trivial to use well, especially if you're hands are on the small side. I've been a card sleight-of-hand guy for decades but I find this quite tough to use. I do think if my hands were a little bigger it would be *much* easier and I probably wouldn't realize what a problem it could be for someone with smaller hands. For me, my hand placement needs to be exactly right, and even then I find I often have to reposition for part 2 of the vanish. So, conclusion, I love the product and think it's brilliant but would caution anyone with smallish hands to be aware it may take a long time to really get comfortable with it.

Christian Grace is a card magic powerhouse.

He has a ridiculously smooth style, even at the toughest moments. It is apparent in Switch One and even here in Level One.

I had no clue what to expect with this prop, and when i saw what it was i was happily wrong on all fronts. Nothing mechanical or finnicky that might have a chance of snapping or breaking mid performance.

If you are fairly comfortable with handling a deck of cards, there’s nothing too crazy here. You’re going to need some misdirection (either in the form of audience management or an off-beat), some form of acting is required, and everything else is motivated and covered.

I can definitely see myself doing this as an alternative to an omni deck finish (which I might say, due to the nature of the prop, a little easier to introduce). The equivoque performance is nice as well, and something I’d see myself performing.

Teaching is top notch. Definitely happy with this one.

I love that you can travel with this easily. Have it around to keep poking around with until you get the knack. And then once you can start using it to fool the portability means you'll likely always have it around. It can clearly be worked into so many routines you already have, giving them an extra smack at the end.

Fantastic effect that lives up to the hype. The gimmick is durable and should last a very long time. I really like the various handlings that are presented as well to help spark magicians’ creativity with this device. Just be aware that the effect does take some practice to get down smoothly since it does rely on sleight of hand. Highly recommended!

I tend to favor sleight of hand, gimmick-free magic. When I do buy gimmicked magic, I need to be able to end clean and I never want to feel disappointed after receiving the gimmicks. This gimmick blew my mind. This is exactly the type of gimmick that I open up, practice with, and feel that it is 100% worth every penny I've paid for it. I can't explain how great I think this gimmick is. Long-lasting and again, worth every penny.

Got this for Christmas and I love it. I was not expecting a gimmick like this ! It's very clever and well thought and it should last a veeeeeeeery long time. This is not an automatic gimmick that will do all the work for you. I won't lie, it will take some time and some work to master it and maybe do it as good as Christian Grace does but within a few hours of practice only, I'm almost able to do it now. The required moves are a bit of a knack for sure but it's worth it in my opinion. I would say it's not for beginners at all as it requires quite an intermediate sleight of hand level, however, with work it's still achievable. The 3 routines and the explanations that come with the purchase are really nice and detailed enough by Christian with some tips on the handling and on the psychology involved and they all take advantage of Level One cleverly . The 1st routine is a great example of how to introduce the gimmick easily during the performance. Very smart ! Everything is justified and natural, I definitely love Christian Grace's way of thinking with well constructed effects for a high impact level on the spectators. I even think it's quite angle-proof and can be very practical if you learn how to use it and to manipulate it properly. If you love deck vanishes and if you're not afraid of putting some effort in learning some sleight of hand, go for it !

Excellent teaching method, and this one will take some practice before perfecting it, but it is well worth the time spent perfecting this effect. It helps to pay attention to the tips given at the end of this instructional video. It is important to make certain that you keep a light touch on the device and your card. This makes it easier to rotate the device so it works as it is intended to work. I really like this trick, but it will take me quite a long time to be able to execute this effectively. It is well worth the price and the time that is needed to perform it well.

So simple. So wonderful. Took me 10 minutes to practice, and friends were floored by the results. It's also a product that will last a looooooong time. Thanks for the awesome concept and delivery.

My biggest reservation about this gimmick is the instructions and its promotion. Everything one sees and reads about this product implies simple and easy, until you buy it. Simple, yes. Brilliantly simple even. But, not easy at all. Yes, if you can hold a deck in Biddle Grip, you should be able to do it. Long slender fingers will have a distinct advantage. The instructions just don't go into any detail about all the nuances of the basic grip and handling. I thought it might be just me and my old hands, so I took it to the Ring meeting for some workshopping and feedback. Immediately, two members, much younger than I, sheepishly admitted to already throwing theirs in the sock drawer! but, after discussion and sharing and comparing notes, I felt better about it, and I think they were going to give theirs another try! The only other thing to consider about purchasing Level One is, Its a Reveal. A damn good one, but, you still have to "control the selection to your favorite position using your favorite method" before Level One ever comes into play.

This is so great! When I initially received the trick I was surprised at the simplicity of the gimmick - but the more I use it the more amazed I am at it's ingenuity and effectiveness. The explanation videos are extremely clear - I love the equivoque option for the ending too. A brilliant trick - well worth getting.

I found this to be very knacky, even with a lot of practice. Not just from the handling, but the way things line up depending on hand, finger size, etc is a bit specific.
For me it just wasn't consistent enough to trust.
The instructions and download are excellent, as usual from Christian. There's some good thought behind a particular move and ditch as well.

Love this trick, it's a real nice finishing act to a card routine. Even though it does take a lot of practice to pull it off like on the video. We'll worth the time invested once you see your audiences faces in disbelief. A must have for quick Street impromptu...

Great explanation

This is a great product. I think it’s priced well at thirty dollars. It would be nice if there was an option to but just the gimmick, kinda like a refill. But its price seems fair to me. The gimmick should last you a very very long time so there shouldn’t be a need for buying more. It’s compact and rather small, I hadn’t seen anything like it. It seems pretty durable as well because it’s one solid piece.

This looks great on video, but it’s really hard to perform. But at least Christian said that this trick needs to be done as an offbeat. So I like the routine in which he has the spectator take a picture of the cards before the magician does the trick.

So that’s OK! I keep practicing every day. I got the moves down for handling the gimmick. The deck switching is the one that still kind of worries me. The string is harder to do than I thought. But since I’m single, I have all the Time in the world. Just kidding!

I would recommend for those who want to do this trick is to make sure that your cards have a nice white border. You’ll see what I mean when you actually get this solid-state gimmick as the way Christian describes it.

But overall, it’s not easy to do even though it looks great when it’s done by a professional such as question. Sometimes I get so frustrated that I just put it away and I forget that I even bought it. But other than that it’s all right.

The quality of the gimmick is excellent and will last years! I laughed out loud and smiled from ear to ear when I learned the secret of this trick!

Pros: It can be done with any deck of cards, and there is no need to do arts and crafts. The trick is easy when going from half the deck to a singular card. The instructional videos are well done, but I would have loved an additional version with voice-over instructions and tips for handling. The tricks that come with the vanish effects are well done also.

Cons: The trick is knacky when going from a full deck to half a deck. This is by far the most frustrating part of the trick. But stick with it, and you will eventually get it. Of course, some people get it quicker than others, but like a good card fan (WHICH I STILL CAN'T DO WELL), you eventually get it to be passable/useable before you master it.

This is so great. I was doing it by the end of an hour. Not super hard, and very easy clean up.

Simplicity doesn't equal easy. This gimmick is devilishly simple, but the handling takes some practice. I'm a dilettante so the physical dextrity was a little intimidating but I've redoubled my efforts to practice this. I'm also thinking of myriad ways to add this to other effects.

If you haven't added this to your EDC, why not?...This is a straight up stunner.There are plenty of convincers, and the teaching video is perfect and covers everything from all angles, including a transparent card to see the handling better. He has thought of everything with this one! This is just so smooth and natural looking with the brilliant deceptive handling by Christian.

Absolutely Brilliant
The effect is super simple and doesn’t need replacing. It’s also easy to steal and easy to bring into any routine. It can even be used with a borrowed deck! It makes for a great impromptu trick if you have it on you. It’s extremely angle-proof and it is by far one of the best purchases I have made. Intermediate level.

This is how you make an instructional video. Showing with simple explanations. Short, sweet and to the point. I haven’t received Level One yet but I am happy to see what it is and excited to use it I’m my routines.

This has been one that I carry around everywhere. The tutorial is awesome. Very clear instruction.

What a simple and fantastic gimmick. I'm getting used to the handling of this and feel confident I can use it soon with a little more practice. I'm a beginner with sleights but the handling of this is not too difficult, the angles are very good and the brilliant thing is it hides in plain sight so doesn't make you feel anxious to use. Blew my mind when I discovered the secret, as I absolutely couldn't conceive of how it was done when watching the vids. Put yourself in that frame of mind when using Level One, spectators will have no idea what's going on.

This is great! Christian came up with a very clever method for this effect. It does require some practice, and it might be easier for ones and harder for others. I liked that he provided several presentation ideas and different methods for getting ready to perform.

You didn't think of it, though, did you? This is genius in its simplicity. Truly a thing of beauty. Bear in mind that when you buy a trick like this, you're not only paying for the gimmick - you're paying for the creative mind behind it.

The idea and product are wonderful. My only complaint is the video explanation still left me confused. I had to trial and error it. I love it now that I stumbled upon when to change the position of my fingers for the first phase. It's like learning to back palm a card .

Woooooooow....! No wonder this works on magicians~! Wow. What an incredibly smart effect. Can be used to vanish ANY deck--what an amazing way to finish any thought of card/force. This can jolt ANY card reveal to another level. Grace's work is just so well thought-through...BRAVO! Will agree with reviews that say it takes practice, and that may have been underemphasized in the trailer--fair enough. However, this is like salting popcorn....after this, not using it is going to feel like you're just missing something. Another review pointed to the non-verbal instructions, however--I can really see their value. I have other effects by C. Grace, and his explanations happen to be always clear, and he tends to offer performance notes and nuances very well, so in his case, I might prefer the audio (some other EXCELLENT magicians get turned around in their explanations and complicate it unnecessarily) , however, the 'silent' version forces me to have patience, and prevents me from thinking I know what's coming next, so it was a good fit for me to learn this--it is tricky but not complicated. Can almost guarantee that however you think he is doing this.........he is not!

This needs a LOT of practice. That being said, it is awesome and once mastered (I have not yet) it is absolutely the type of effect that will be in your EDC pouch. It is not for beginners or people looking for a quick, easy trick that works itself. With the proper investment this is something that can and will be used as part of every card routine you do.

A great alternative to the omni deck. If you have done a vanishing deck routine with ambitious card before then the get-ready for this should be easy for you to pick up. The moves to make the deck shrink and vanish will take a bit of practice though. The gimmick is well-made and should last a lifetime.

Still can't figure out how he gets the selected card on top after taking what looks like the top card and handing it to the spectator. I would like to see a close up, slow motion of how that's done. I've played this over and over and still can't figure that out. Is this shown in another video?

Well, it looks simple, with practice. And the price is reasonable, especially since it looks like it is likely to last a long, long time.
Now, my hands aren't as nimble as his. I haven't been able to to the first half, or the second half vanish to my own satisfaction just looking at my hand, and I haven't even considered watching it in a mirror yet. I've got to get a lot better first.'
But I'm determined, and I practice a few minutes with it every day. And I do mean EVERY day. That way I don't get frustrated with my clumsiness. It's a skill and lots of practice will get results.

I just turned 60 a few months ago. When I was in my 40s, I started doing magic. But I’ve loved watching magic since I was a kid. My first magic show that I saw in person. I was about eight years old and I saw Harry Blackstone Junior. Now that I’m retired I’m getting back into magic and I can hardly wait to get started with this trick.

This is so very clever! And best of all, the videos are extremely detailed and clear, showing all the moves from different angles and even using a transparent card to show what's happening. Excellent!

This is so simple, so clever and so sneaky...and so hard to perfect. A lot of tricks arrive and are not what you expected and go straight in a drawer forever. This made me smile as it's one of those "why has no one thought of this before" gimmicks. I love that this can be used with a borrowed deck. The only con is it's VERY knacky; the instructions are pretty bare bones with only one small tip for perfecting it. And judging from the reviews here, my guess is your hand size, finger length and overall dexterity will dictate how quickly you can nail this. But it's worth the practice.

This is hard to do. If tne gimmick were 1/32nd of an inch longer, it would be a breeze. I know. I made a mock-up.

This is an outstanding effect, The visual effect is perfect. First half the deck vanishes then goes completely in full view of the spectator. Learning the moves takes a bit of effort but is well worth it. Well supported by the instructional videos. High recommend for anyone at any level.

great trick, only use it at bars/walk around shows as the effect is much more difficult while seated in my opinion. the routines shared in the video are pretty good as well.
