Live lecture by Dani DaOrtiz ($75.00)

Dani DaOrtiz: "It's your life!" But it's also your Masterclass. Dani is revered by magicians for his impossible, energetic style of performance. When Dani lectures, he tends to focus on the philosophical underpinnings of his magic. But for this Masterclass, he has chosen to focus on the card magic that has taken him all over the world. This will be a rare glimpse into the techniques he uses when he performs. This is Dani with an emphasis on usable, unpublished card magic.

Week One: (September 5th 2021, 4pm ET) - "Triumphs"

Dani will detail his most deceptive Triumph effects (including several unpublished routines), and discuss the inner secrets to making your existing Triumph routines even more powerful.

Week Two: (September 12th 2021, 4pm ET) - "Magic from the Spectator's Point of View"

Using various new semi-automatic routines as his starting point, Dani will discuss the theory behind how he strengthens his magic from the spectator's point of view. He'll discuss chaos and naturalness within several of his routines.

Week Three: (September 19th 2021, 4pm ET) - "Zoom Call"

To introduce this Zoom call, Dani will talk about "Freedom of Speech" technique, which he has previously only shared to Spanish-speaking magicians. He will then answer your questions and go over any of the techniques that you need help on. This is a Zoom session not to be missed!

Syllabus subject to change.

Everyone knows that Dani DaOrtiz is a legend! This was a most educational lecture. It covers every possible angle of a triumph. Special attention given to card control and sorting an entire deck right beneath our noses! Thank you so much Vanishing Inc.!

Excellent!! Nothing was "lost in translation" and the video issues were not significant to the teaching, in my humble opinion. Thank you, Mr D!!!

If Dani were to leave a review of his own Masterclass, he might say: "Buy this lecture, or don't. It's your life." But you should, and here's why: Dani is contagious. The content and thinking he shares "is unbelievable" (to use his phrase), and I learned a ton. While the content is top tier, it's just as much fun to simply to watch a Master share his craft. Thanks Dani!

It was one of the best Masterclasses of the year. Dani packed his session with clear explanations and precise demonstrations of each technical trick he presented. His philosophy and ideas can be transposed to many aspects of magic. He did a fantastic job and like the Author Joseph Conrad, who wrote in his second language, did a great job presenting the lecture in English. This was a treat and the time flew by.

Humboldt State University -

A very detailed class about Triumph. This is a serious class about Triumph, and Dani goes over the many layers, perspectives, and approaches to strengthening this classic trick. Although the first class is "only" one trick, the methods and approaches that Dani talks about can be applied to other card tricks to make them stronger.

Wonderful and thought-provoking lecture covering much ground on the theory/psychology of Triumph along with many variations and ideas on handlings. My only complaint is Dani seemed to have turned off the audio on the video performances he showed (aside from the very first one of Open Triumph). I could listen to Dani for hours, and thankfully I can with this Masterclass! :D

Great insights. It is very important to know the spectator's view is the most important, if not the most accurate, point of view.

This was one of the best lectures I have experienced. Excellent material, a true master class.

This was a great Masterclass (second), coming in at two and a half hours it was a great example of effects backed up by incredible theory. I cannot imagine anyone coming away from this class without some gem that he or she can use in their act.
The video was crystal clear and last week’s video has been re-shot with added material. The tricks that Dani teaches are, for the most part, typically Dani. The theory, however, is brilliant and applicable to almost any piece.
Some of my favorite advice is to look at the magic from the spectator’s point of view. This will cause the spectator to remember what the performer highlights and forget the things that actually make the trick work. Dani explains that memory is malleable and can be controlled by the performer. This is an areal that is being explored by academics today and makes a huge difference in magic.
Dani’s parable about the champaign bottle is an example of his genius. The magic must build and build until, when the denouement is finally revealed, the spectator’s reaction is like the uncorking a shaken bottle of champaign. It explodes, just like the bottle. Dani also goes into the expectation of spectators (e.g., when a card is torn, the spectator expects it to be restored, not for the two pieces to change color, etc.
The chosen, signed, card in water-bottle is at the end of the lecture. I can see how this would be a closer for almost any show. The important thing here, however, is not the tricks, but the theory. A don’t miss from one of the most incredible performers in Magic today.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Very hard to understand the English. Needs to slow down the explanations.
