For the first time ever, Homer Liwag has recorded a lecture for magicians...and he left no stone unturned. Enjoy more than 6 hours of teaching from the magic legend!

Homer Liwag is an award-winning director, cinematographer and artist that has spent nearly 30 years working directly alongside David Copperfield. He is a master of video and music editing, sound design, script development, illusion staging and theatrical lighting design. One of his biggest passions in life though, has always been magic.

Prior to becoming the co-director and design director for David Copperfield’s live Las Vegas shows and emmy award-winning TV magic specials, Homer was a working magician. He honed his skills in the bar and restaurant industry and is thrilled to share his most prized magic creations with you, as well as the vital lighting and video skills every magician should have.

"Homer Liwag's Masterclass" is one of the greatest values we've ever offered. You get three separate huge downloads, followed by a captivating Q&A that was recorded when this Masterclass first aired live.

Session 1

  • Flash Rice - Instant bare-handed matrix with finesse and variations
  • False Faro - Deceptive false faro shuffle plus a bonus routine
  • CoinONE - Homer's most famous release - with new details, nuances and thinking

Beyond the workings of each effect, Homer also shares the most important subtleties that make them truly special. Everything from timing down to attitude. The type of details that separate an experienced magician from an amateur.

Session 2

  • CoinTWO - In depth including non-gimmicked versions, finesse, details, etc.
  • Melt Vanish - A very smooth, silky visual Coin Vanish
  • Bounce Change - Derek Dingle’s bounce change with interesting timings and applications
  • Superposition - A Silver Dollar visually changes to 2 halves and then to 4 quarters - all in the hands.
  • Body Contact - Jumbo Contact Lens routine with a surprise ending
  • Marksmanship - A staple in his walk around set, which includes a large ball bearing suddenly appearing with the shake of a marker

Session 3

  • Fun kitchen magic and explanations of some of the “gags” performed in the other 2 sessions
  • Tennis Shoe - a fun moment, accidentally discovered ending to the classic Ring on String routine
  • Carmex - A favorite, unfinished routine he loved performing behind the bar at Illusions Restaurant—with some fresh insights after reworking the routine from start to finish
  • Crash course on lighting for magicians: A quick look on making yourself look good on video - tips and tricks, hacks and no-budget solutions for making sure you look as good as your magic.

Q&A

Very useful tips, as said by himself, use the Golden Nuggets shown. The small fine tunes and details is what separates a good show from a great show.
Third day was the one I enjoyed the most. Homer always with his great sense of humor. Thanks!

Homer Liwag provided three classes AND a very informative Question ans Answer session. The classes were clear, although, like all coin magic, will take considerable practice to even come close to his skill.

I loved his humor and the best part was the reaction of his audience (three expressive and beautiful dogs :)) My dogs were equally impressed by my performances.

Very great masterclass. Explain in detail the routine CoinOne is a very nice gift. I discovered this routine about 15 years ago now, and fell in love with, still very great. I practice it since, it is a pleasure to do it.
Great ideas with cards too, and the the video is very nice to watch.

Homer Liwag is amazing! I haven't been this enthralled with a sleight of hand class in forever. The humor is rapid-fire and subtle, and the explanations are thorough. He is a master, and I highly recommend this workshop. I hope Homer comes back and does a second workshop soon.

Homer Liwag's Masterclass is phenomenal. The illusions taught during the first two sessions include coin transpositions, advanced vanishes, productions, card shuffles and constitute strong, powerful magic. Some of the illusions require the use of a "turtle", although non-gimmicked versions of Coins across is also taught. Several of the effects have been previously published (e.g. CoinOne) as separate releases. The third session includes advanced tips on video production (including lighting, direction, framing and editing), which I found to be extremely useful. All practical stuff. Liwag is a fantastic teacher with a quirky sense of humor. I would get this Masterclass at the full price, unless you already own CoinOne and CoinTwo, which I think are his best effects. Some of the secondary effects (especially during the third sessions) I did not really care about.

Lots of good tips. Homer's humor livened everything. The lighting section was full of useful tips for any recording.

This is a truly epic masterclass! Homer's lecture is top-notch - the material is fantastic, the teaching is clear and thorough, the production quality is absolutely stellar, and his presentation of this material is seriously entertaining to boot! Every item taught in this masterclass has, in some form or another, gone directly into my repertoire - some of which were already in my repertoire, only now with his current insights on them added to their improvement - and all of the advice Homer gives has been fully assimilated and incorporated into my performance style. Homer is a deeply influential figure on me - going all the way back to MME - and with this masterclass he continues to have a profound effect on my magic. I give this masterclass the highest recommendation! This is a must have for any serious magician.

Homer Liwag was wonderful in his explanations and his personality helped make this experience enjoyable. I hope this is not his only masterclass -- he needs to do more visual presentations.

What an amazing session. Not only was the energy and the attitude so flipping fun and enjoyable, but the amount of knowledge and fun options on handling and execution just kept coming and coming. Great humor. Great pups. Great salamis. Great magic.

This is undoubtedly the best masterclass of all! Homer Liwag is such a pleasant fellow and such a great teacher! The masterclass really deserves its name: It is well structured with plenty of golden nuggets for beginners and professionals. Even if you don't perform any of the tricks shown, you'll take away a lot from these six hours. If I could take only one masterclass to a desert island: This would be it!

Homer Liwag's coin magic is amazing (as we already knew)! But it also turns out that he is a truly brilliant teacher, showing all of the necessary subtleties from the necessary angles, predicting my questions and then answering them, AND packaging it all in the most entertaining lecture style I have ever seen. He really went above and beyond!

This masterclass sets the bar very high in my opinion! It's just perfectly well made from session 1 to the Q&A section! The quality of the production of this masterclass is out of the chart (Love the dog shots!). Most of the materials are already been publish but, Homer refined and rework his materials and revisited what can be improve from his past works. You will also learn a crash course on camera and lighting which is a good idea for those who wished to produce magic video contents. It's a great way to start with! Homer has put a lot of sweat and blood producing this masterclass while having fun which makes him very authentic in front of the camera.

Thank you Homer for your great work

Simply put...BLOWN AWAY. Homer is one of the best kept secrets in the biz. Copperfield really got a couple of ACES when he hired Homer Liwag and Chris Kenner.

Love both coin routines and the FFF. Working on all three...because they are "workers". I will never forget Homer's alternate pronunciation for FFF.

Homer Liwag’s MasterClass was epic!! It really raises the bar for other classes in terms of imparting the necessary components of each routine. He talked about video, lighting, pacing, timing and showed great examples of each concept. The first two classes went heavily into amazing card and coin routines and the third class had a terrific coin routine and shoelaces/ring/ shoe effect. One of the best classes I attended and very understandable.
Highly recommended!

The Homer Liwag Week 2 MasterClass is over. As with his Week 1 MasterClass, I am cerebrally drained...and in justifiable awe over Homer's professionalism, teaching technique, material covered...and his UNSELFISH generosity in revealing all that he did. All were over the top.

The camera work was top drawer. HD cameras all around...top, front, from the side and over the shoulder But, upon reflection, I'm not surprised. Who would have expected anything less from one of David Copperfield's top assistants/consultants?

Homer left no stone unturned in his efforts to completely and thoroughly explain everything he was teaching. His explanation of his legendary CoinTWO routine was no exception. Homer's explanations (and rationale) regarding the methods and subtleties utilized were slowly and REPEATEDLY performed from every camera angle imaginable. I was in absolute awe as Homer explained little subleties that he had developed (and added) to further hide the moves that were being performed. More than once I found myself yelling out kudos and simultaneously applauding at the computer screen in appreciation for something Homer had just revealed.

In addition, and with impeccable instinct and timing, Homer interspersed this lecture with little sight gags, verbal puns and repeated 5-second dog videos of his adorable dogs (as if one of the dogs had just reacted to one of Homer's puns or other jokes.

Although the material was repeatedly and clearly explained over and over again, there was just too much material to absorb in a single sitting. I was on functional overload by the end of this remarkable lecture. Thank GOD! that this material is available for repeated viewing and analysis by the subscribers of this MasterClass.

Other than the foregoing above-described, not much happened in the lecture. Nothing to see folks...move along...just move along. (grin) That said, I can hardly wait for Homer's Week 3 Masterclass.

The foregoing is submitted with the utmost respect imaginable.

Everyone take notes, this is how you create a explanation/lecture/etc on film.

Beautifully filmed. Very detailed. And the flow of explanation is perfect. First Homer shows the performance, than goes into the explanation and ends with details.

I wanted to stop trying to learn something with coins, but this made me sit back with coins in my hands. And I really like FFF. Haven't even seen the full second part, but it's already great and the third part still has to come, but it's already one of the best Masterclasses I have seen.

Session 2 was also excellent, though I must say Coin 2 is a bit of a bear. It will take a special performer to tackle that one. Definitely falls into the category of effects that are more impressive once you know the method than if you didn’t.

Masterclass 2 continued from the first Masterclass with CoinTwo with alternate endings. Homer again was very thorough in his explanations using excellent lighting and multiple camera angles to enhance the learning process. Coupled with his awesome sense of humor, the pacing was excellent in the nearly two hour Masterclass. I continued to learn many new effects and presentation pearls. attention to detail in timing, finger and hand positioning and misdirection were all combined to arrive at these polished effects. Tremendous Masterclass 2!

Great! Great tricks, well & clearly explained. I like that he only covered 3 tricks. But with each, he had variations. E.g. a way to do coins across with a gimmick, and a way without. I also like that he explains at the end of the Filipino False Shuffle the basics of how to do a faro. Highly recommended for close up workers.

I knew this would be good, but didn't realise it would be THAT good. There was great magic, clear and easy to follow explanations, funny, clever and beautifully filmed. Even if you can't do the some of the tricks it is inspiring to watch and learn from such an extremely talented magician. Fantastic stuff - can't wait for session 2.

I mean who has a hand written script with sketches of the shots?! That like shorting a world class movie. Mind blown just by that.

The quality of the class is just outstanding.

Excellent teaching combined with different camera views very elaborate and slow.

I love the basic explanation and then the detailed and finesse.

Also the fact he teaches methods using gaffs and then a non gaffes version is amazing as well. As for me at the moment believe it or not is the way to learn. I don’t have the turtle one needs.

I mean seriously I’d say Homer and Chris Kenner are obviously the best master classes ever.

The instruction was very well done. He walked through the material multiple times from different angles. He really prepared quite a bit for the lecture and it showed. Homer was incredibly thoughtful and organized. In addition, he broke the lecture up with just enough humor and a few cut-aways (I won't spoil that here) just to keep things moving.

Homer Liwag is a master at his craft. This has been an extremely informative Masterclass so far. His opening coin effect 'Flash Rice' is going to be a staple in my coin magic going forward. Homer pays close attention to detail and finesse in his routines and in his teaching which is invaluable in making your magic as strong as it can be to an audience.

The video and audio quality is unmatched. Homer put a lot of thought and storyboarding into his Masterclass and it truly shows. It's been really fun watching all the pre pro work that he put out leading up to the launch of the first weeks lesson.

Part of me is a little bummed that it wasn't a "live" experience like other Masterclass formats, but at the same time, that allowed Homer to precisely choose what he wanted to say/show and it made the experience more efficient in my opinion.

The difficulty level in the First Week in my opinion was intermediate to advanced. Coin One was taught and that is a knuckle busting routine - not impossible but has some knacky moves. He goes over some card moves but primarily stuck to coin effects.

I highly recommend watching this Masterclass!

I have participated in almost all of these Masterclasses. What an excellent way to learn from the best. There are two standout lectures. Chris Kenner and the new one from Homer Liwag. The material is so well taught. I have been doing both of the two taught coin effects for years and I realized that I had missed many many of the finesse points taught. The camera work is right on so you get an excellent close up view of all the finger positions. The broader view allows you see as the spectator would see. Such an excellent teacher. Well done. Since much of the coin work is on the table I would be interested if he has any further advice on matt types.

Wow I knew this was going to be well worth the price of admission. I’ve been a fan of his work for a long time and when I heard he was possibly doing a masterclass back at the beginning of the year I was waiting for this.
I already have coin one but there’s so many touches and extra subtleties he goes over that was well worth learning it again. Flash rice is amazing and I can’t wait to put the work in on that one and do it with whatever objects I find around me for a nice, visual, quick piece of strong magic

I am so excited for week two

Also I need to add that Homer is just a great guy I had the chance to spend some time with him and Chris at the beginning of the year at S.A.M and they are just two of the kindest and generous people I’ve ever come across

If you want to learn some truly mind blowing coin magic this is the masterclass for you.
I really enjoyed Homer's lecture and teaching style. For each effect Homer goes into great detail on moves, subtleties, spectator management, and alternative handlings. It has inspired me to brush the dust off of my half dollars and devote some real time practicing the effects he explained in this masterclass. He deserves extra credit for teaching both gimicked and impromptu versions of his effects. As a sleight of hand "purist" this was something that I really appreciate.
This masterclass also covers some fantastic in the hands false shuffle and false cut work which I am definitely going to be adding to my card work.

WOW! What a tour de force!

A great IN DEPTH lecture on three coin effects (coin matrix, coins across and Homer's legendary "Coin One" effect.

Next, Homer explained his false f**o and utilizing the false f**o...and performed and taught an effect utilizing same.

Homer then gave an in-depth explanation of how to perform a "basic" f**o". (THANK YOU for that, Homer!)

The material taught was high-end top drawer material. So much so that the material taught would have EASILY justified Homer charging $100/hr for private lessons on same.

Clear, patient, repeated, thorough explanations shot at many varied angles. The cinematography was exceptionally well done. Clearly (no pun intended), the best cinematography to date on any of the MasterClasses.

IMHO, on a scale of 1-10, this Masterclass was easily a 15. So exceptional a lecture that, when writing about Homer's Week One lecture, MasterClass should be spelled out in all CAPS!

I can hardly wait until next class when Homer promised that he will teach his "Coin Two effect and an underused method for vanishing coins, etc.

Very amazing! Outstanding!! Homer was exceptionally prepared. Amount of new material for me was enormous. I appreciated his preparation and multiple cameras. His teaching style was very thorough, yet very entertaining. I have already gotten more than my money's worth with Session 1 alone! Now I have a lot to review and practice. Loved that he performed both Coin One versions (with & without a shell!). So I can perform one version, while practicing the more challenging versions. Learned a new false faro as well as some deceptive false cuts. Liked that he repeated slowly over and over the various moves and referenced alternative versions for later study. Can't wait for session 2! Amazing video and audio qualities His relaxed approach enhanced my learning. Thank you to Homer for your exceptional preparation and amazing teaching style!

Session one of Homer Liwag's Vanishing Inc. Masterclass was fantastic! I've never bothered to learn a Chink-A-Chink routine but I think I will work on Flash Rice and add it to my repertoire as I think it's fairly easy to do but packs a big punch! I loved that FFF shuffle and the Triumph effect he explained utilizing it. It's the routine I will be working on and adding to my Triumph arsenal. For me, the highlight of this session was Coin One of which Homer taught in great detail. I've been doing this routine for years now but I thought some of the tips he provided were very helpful for me. Additionally, because of his expertise in set-up and lighting, the video/images were super clear and the close ups were spectacular! I'll be rewinding this session over and over. I'm really looking forward to next week's session.

If coin magic is your thing, Homer Liwag is your teacher. 95% of this masterclass is related to the different techniques and flourishes with coins. He is educational, funny and super entertaining. Time goes by super fast watching him perform absolute magic with the coins in his hands (and his body).

I've never really wanted to get into coin magic before watching Homer's masterclass. Very beautiful handlings and he gives good explanations. But I think the highlight of his class is his discussion of good lighting and how to produce good lighting on a shoestring budget. While his coverage is introductory, I think this information is helpful to all who perform.

Clear, concise and innovative. Dry comedy to lighten things up was also appreciated. Look forward to next week. Thanks!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Hi great question. The price will cover all three sessions. However, if you subscribe for 50, then you get all three, plus access to VI Studio plus free shipping with no minimum spend. And if you decide it's not for you, you can cancel with one click from inside your member's area. Hope that helps.
  • Daniel asks: Hi Homer. I just started learning magic. I want to learn coin magic. Will this be a good masterclass for me?

    • 1. Homer answers: The coin magic in my masterclass is generally intermediate to advanced. However, a couple of the routines and vanishes are easy to learn, and with some practice, may help elevate your coin magic. There will be lots of little tips and finesse that you can learn to help advance your skill in coin magic... And hopefully my coin magic will inspire you to learn further from the amazing coin magicians out there! Homer

  • Marcus asks: Hi, Will I keep whatever masterclasses that were broadcasted during my membership time, even if I were to cancel my membership in the future? Or would I need to purchase them separately to have them "for life" so to speak?

    • 1. Maximilian answers: Yes, you keep the ones from the month(s) that your subscription is active. You will always have them unless you ask for your account to be deleted.

  • Eamonn asks: Hi Homer! I’m a big fan of yours! My question is: can coin one and coin 2 be performed in a stand up/walk around setting. I’m thinking about getting this master class on the strength of these routines alone!

    • 1. Homer answers: Hello, CoinOne is best performed with a small group of people standing close to you, looking down at your hands. People can be looking over your shoulder a bit, but you have to modify the handling slightly. I cover this in Session ONE. CoinTwo is great standing in front of a group. It's best if the audience is more in front of you and not too much to the sides. It's great on a small stage. Hope this helps! Homer
