Greetings fellow Magicians! This is one of those reviews that I was hesitant to write…. Here’s why….. I’M SELFISH and want all of the routines in this remarkable book all to myself lol! We have all purchased that newest, shiny well filmed and marketed mentalism effect only to have it end up in the proverbial “Magic Boneyard Drawer”! Thinking, I’ll get back to that one someday… NO YOU WON’T…. Right? Well, Michael Breggars book “Know Brainer” will blow your mind… Pun intended! The book literally paid for itself in the first twenty pages. Although (Being a seasoned professional) I was familiar with many of the concepts from past literary works, his humorous approach to mentalism is spot on and POWERFUL! At times I was laughing out loud thinking, that one’s going into my set, oh and that one and that one and that one… well you get the point. In addition to his scripted patter, handling and photos of the props, he provides links to where to get the few Arts and Crafts pieces/parts to make the organic looking props! I have a pretty extensive Magic library (a few of which are currently used as door stops) but this book holds the covenant position of my top 5 favorite reads (Tools) of all time!
