Does this method really not use Barnum statements?

Hey there, Taha here. So I'll clarify what is meant by 'no vague Barnum statements'. A lot of material on cold reading relies extensively, some even exclusively, on creating vague barnum statements as an end. As in, the product teaches you a system of barnum statements. Here it's different, Barnum statements, even though they're sometimes used, aren't necessary. And even when they are used, they are used as a mean to get very specific info about the spectator. So yes this system does use Barnum statements. But it won't be felt as such by the spectator and unlike things like horoscopes or generative texts, the Barnum statements will never be the end result of what you're divining, but a means to get somewhere very specific. Hope that clarifies it. :-)

How much fishing is required?

Hey there, if by fishing you mean saying things randomly hoping to hit, and navigating blindly with the info you're getting, making the audience feel that you're fishing for info, then no there isn't. With this you get a structure that you can follow, and one that will make sure that even when you are really getting an info based on their reaction, they don't feel that you're adapting your langage to their reactions, but simply that you're sharing your impressions and slowly divining more elements on their thoughts and personality! Is this 3+ hour video time stamped to allow us to find the different sections/table of contents quickly without having to run through the entire video to find the part we would like to find?

The running time on this version is listed as 3 hours and 25 minutes, but on the virtualmagie.com site the same lecture is said to be 4hours and 10minutes. Could you let me know what the difference is between the two?

Hey Cyprien, Taha here. It's exactly the same content, and in real time they both lasted over 5h. But I think simply in terms of how I structured the routine (there's less repetition in the english version), and subtle differences in the editing (because it's not a one shot, it's been edited to remove useless silences or repetition) that make it not be exactly the same length. I would recommend you getting the one in the language that suits you the most :-)

Is this a surefire method? Will i get a hit everytime?

Hey Jamie, Taha here. It depends what you mean by surefire. It doesn't work the same way as a peek, or a physical method that's for sure. But it is surefire enough to get hits or get really close everysingle. it's surefire enough that I've been using it for years in my weekly paris theatre show, on stage, to be able to conduct a full 30 min Q&A act with the entire audience where I reveal names, dates of birth, specific personal memories and answer a lot question with simply what you're getting in this download. It's surefire enough that if a person challenges you to reveal a memory their thinking of, on the spot, you might not get all the specific details, but without them writing anything down you'll be able to get the gist of it and enough details to make them feel that you went into their mind... Hope that helps.

Is this system a "conversational" reading system, or a system that attempts to "divine" or "guess" specific information? Hope that makes sense.

Hey there, Taha here. If you mean conversational as in just reading people and seeing how it goes, this system goes beyond that. I wanted something that I could use with a person that is actively thinking of a memory, a specific question they have that they want answered, and I wanted to find a way to be able to navigate towards that specific element, while still being able to get more info along the way that I can instantly use or use some other time. Hoep that answers your question.

Can it be used with the Spanish language?

Best Crash Course in real Cold Reading.

This review was challenging because I have spent many years studying this topic and have explored the various systems available. Taha is a fellow traveler, and I tend to be a tougher critic on topics that I'm passionate about.

What this course will NOT do:
-Give you 3 hours of original material or thoughts. (A lot is borrowed and admittedly so.)
-Make you an expert reader after one viewing
-Discuss all the other system approaches that led to the development of the techniques. (Worth studying)
-Give you a 100% fail-safe system every time.
-Make participants compliant
-Give you a “Traditional” Q&A act.
-Give you a character or persona to assume (you have to discover your own)
-Remove the use of Barnum statements

I'll start by saying that I'm very happy with this purchase. Taha's teaching is detailed, his ideas are well-sourced, and if you're looking for a comprehensive overview of cold reading as a subject that also teaches a consistently reliable system then this is what you need. Having said that, the description promises "No vague Barnum statements, no difficult math, no gimmicks, and no pre-show. Just a clean, reliable system that you can use anywhere" and it is not quite accurate. You certainly don't *need* to use gimmicks with Taha's system, but some of what you see makes use of a particular peek (which is taught in the download). Many principles underlying Barnum statements are also necessary, though not really referred to as that. It's also worthwhile to note that while Taha's system is reliable, it's far from sure-fire. The beauty of this download is that you see what happens in real time when things don't go as desired, but that does happen a lot and you need to be able to think on your feet when that happens. No download will teach you how to do that so if you're looking for a "teach me the method and I'll apply it in my show and always get good results" then this is not for you. Overall, however, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and can already see much of the material making its way into my performances.

Cold Reading is for me the purest form of mind reading that can possibly be. You are real, genuine, and truly reading the minds, thoughts and feelings of your participants.
For years, ever since starting to study CR, I had this ultimate vision of it - I believed it to have much more potential than just Barnum statements, or personality reading. I believed it to be an entire approach to the art of Mentalism.
Nevertheless, I couldn't find any sources on the subject that aligned with my belief, my vision, of CR. So much so that I started to doubt whether my vision of this craft is nothing but wishful thinking.

That changed when Mr. Taha Mansour published this project. In this lecture, one will learn how to take the ideas and concepts of CR and use them PROPERLY to really create the experience of reading and experiencing the participants' thoughts and feelings. Without any "trickery" so-to-speak.
For me, Mr. Mansour proved that practical and strong CR is not just a pipe-dream, but a real and achievable skill. And in this project, that skill is taught.

As someone who's versed in CR literature, I don't recommend reading the classic texts before diving into this lecture - mainly for initial familiarity with the terminology and concepts of CR. But given even the most basic knowledge of CR, Taha raises you understanding and ability to a whole new level.

For me it's an easy 5/5 rating. If you're looking for strong, practical, REAL mind reading and mentalism - definitely check this one out. It's going to take time and practice, but it's totally worth it.

It's pure gold. Not only are the system and techniques Taha teaches incredibly clear and practical, but seeing that, rather than just explaining the theory, he says, "I'll show you..." at every step, calling on a spectator and demonstrating a pure cold reading, is priceless. You can tell he has tons of courage and has truly mastered this art for hours. His kind, smiling manner makes watching even easier. Highly recommended.

This lecture was awesome! I've been studying cold-reading off and on for years, but this is the first time I've seen a cohesive system that you can put into use right away. I took an effect I've been doing with a peek and a pendulum, and added just a little bit of cold-reading to practice what I learned here. I was blown away by how much stronger the whole routine became. This is the only cold-reading system you'll never need. I can't recommend it enough! Make sure to join the FaceBook group. There's a plan to release a pdf with notes from the lecture, and I believe the only place to get it will be on FB.

Yes you will need to practice and yes this will take some time to perfect, but what genuine skill doesn't?
The depth and amount of knowledge in here is astronomical and honestly I wish this was priced higher than it is. The information in here is devious. Multiple times I had to stop the video and take a few minutes to collect my thoughts from what I learned. Some of this feels illegal to know.

If you are genuinely interested in cold reading and want THE Definitive guide, this is the 1 thing you need in your library.

Unlike a lot of of other cold reading guides, PCR gives a very definitive step by step system for how to begin a reading, the logic of what to do/say next, how to interpret this information to get hits, how to reveal the information and how to end the reading. Also, unlike other guides, it doesn't rely on remembering specific patter. Instead, Taha gives you several solid frameworks to use for any type of reading (or to enhance your mentalism). This was my biggest takeaway and something I will definitely be incorporating into my performances. While like anything worthwhile it will take some practice, the frameworks he teaches are not hard to learn, understand or remember. They give you a solid foundation to jazz off of so that you never feel stuck or unsure of what to say next. But most importantly, it's an incredibly devious way to acquire information about what the participant is thinking of without them being the wiser, in fact, it comes across more like a personal reading then fishing. And the real beauty of the system is that it works for ANYTHING they are thinking about - an animal, a person, an object, a question, a memory, etc. As others have already stated, each explanation is accompanied by a live demonstration of the technique being taught. This really helps you to understand the what/why of what is happening as opposed to it just being theoretical. He also suggests methods to practice as well some easy to perform routines. This is a really solid CR course that is packed with treasure. Taha has synthesized the works of many of the greats in the field and turned them into several interchangeable techniques that work alone, together or in multiple combinations. It is truly a practical system. There is also a FB group where Taha has already uploaded more videos and tips. I am happy to have added PCR to my arsenal and believe these techniques will form the cornerstones of cold reading for years to come. Add to cart.
