When deciding on the colorway for deck three, Joker and the Thief had one goal in mind. It has to be striking and attention grabbing. This edition was designed to tie the imagery and symbolism of the decks that came before it and add a deeper layer to the story and mythology that exists around our most popular design. This is the blood that ties each character in our symbolic design together.
The original design returns for it's third installment. But, now it's also packaged in an extravagant blood red tuck box created in a California-based letterpress studio. It has been built with imported, specially-dyed paper and draped in elegant, embossed satin gold foil. A new perforated white and gold tax stamp style seal offers gorgeous contrast.
Made in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company on their industry-leading crushed stock and finish for perfectly smooth handling.
This is from a different sort of customer, a cartomancer who loves good cards. They shuffle very nicely without any effort. The cards are very nice visually, though the courts not having much color, I have to really look at them to tell the suits. No biggie. The one star off is for the card stock. As a very tactile person, these have enough of a plastic-y feel that I do not want to handle them long and it makes them slightly too slippery. This would be my 3rd choice of a go-to deck. If they used something like the Slimline B9 or whatever the Bicycle 1900s deck used, they would compete with my Vanishing Magic Deadman's Unharmed deck, my current 1st go-to cards..
