Fuyu Matsuri Playing Cards

In Japanese culture, Fuyu Matsuri, the Winter Festival, is a sacred time of transformation. It is a season of quiet reverence that celebrates nature’s changing rhythms, expresses gratitude for the winter harvest, and honors the divine gifts bestowed by the gods, or Kami.

Continuing the tradition of the Matsuri Series, Fuyu Matsuri captures the serene beauty and mystical spirit of a Japanese winter night.

A Complete Cultural Reinterpretation

“Creativity takes courage.” Rather than simply recoloring an earlier deck, this edition was redesigned from the ground up to honor the depth of Japanese winter traditions. Each card tells a story, bringing cultural heritage together with a sleek, modern playing card design.

Fully custom tuck box: Detailed Japanese motifs evoke the crisp, quiet atmosphere of a winter shrine.
Redesigned pips and indices: Custom-sculpted pips incorporate subtle elements of snow, ice, and traditional Japanese crests, or Kamon.
Exclusive court cards: Original illustrations depict iconic figures, spirits, and deities from Japanese winter folklore, dressed in traditional winter clothing.
Custom jokers: Depict ceremonial festival performers and winter guardians.
Unified series continuity: Retains the signature elegance and feel of the Matsuri Series while presenting a completely fresh, standalone visual experience.

Crafted for Performance and Collection

Premium stock and finish: Engineered for fluid handling, smooth fans, and durable playability, making the deck suitable for cardistry, magic, and tabletop games.
