The name "Monologue" and this deck of cards are a match made in heaven. Why, you ask? One look at the card back will tell you. The backdrop of the "Monologue" cards can be described as pure white, but there are two distinct colored borders surrounding it: one in gray and one in red.
These two borders prevent "Monologue" from being a truly blank deck, yet they still emphasize the concept of nothingness.
The vast white expanse in the center feels like a silent confession, a canvas onto which any thought or feeling can be projected. What you see or think of is what it represents.
In terms of craftsmanship, "Monologue Playing Cards" are made of French black-core paper, giving it a lightweight yet resilient feel. As a deck meant for regular cardistry practice, it caters to a wide range of functionalities.
These are very thin cards with smooth edges. The cards handle very well, as the white background creates an illusion of an invisible pass. The cards are thin but can handle a lot of punishment. My only criticism is the backs are slightly rough.
