Unassuming Design

The “Smart Whiteboard” has been designed from the ground-up with a minimalist look that is identical to a whiteboard you’d find in any store. Using a premium open mold injection process instead of lower-cost 3D printing, both the whiteboard and the marker look and feel identical to normal whiteboards and markers. Simply put, these do not look anything like magic props. Your audience will never suspect a thing.

Innovative Technology

You can get the live peek from a companion iOS or Android app (included in the price with no in-app purchases, or subscriptions), or it will broadcast what is written to a bluetooth earpiece—this text to voice currently works in English and Mandarin (additional languages may be added later). It will work with both iPhone and Apple Watch, as well as Android phones.

Offline Functionality

Smart Whiteboard only. Ink is NOT included and will need to be purchased separately. Other products in the PITATA ecosystem, like the "PITATA UTP-Time Hacker" (a clock that automatically changes to a written time) shown in the trailer video, are not included.

Electronic devices are always a bit risky in magic, but this one completely delivers. It's easy to use and it works consistently well. The board looks and feels like a regular handheld whiteboard, so there's no heat on it at all. The display reads immediately and clearly (I also got the Palm Peeker device, which is equally recommended). The instructional video is pure mechanics (care and feeding of the whiteboard). There's no routine or ideas, which means you have to get creative and use this versatile utility in ways that fit your unique set and style. I love it. It's one of my favorite things!

I am thrilled with this product.
The instructions were a bit vague but I assume that the creator wrote them and not a professional writer.
Once the board was working, it worked to over 30'. I didn't get a max on the range.
I really think THIS is a product worth investing in for professionals.

I just watched the instructions and seems simple. I just wish for the price they could have included the ink and shipped it in a separate package. Also it would been good if the tutorial was more in depth and showed some routine’s. I did order a non gimmicked board and market for a routine I am thinking of doing. I can’t wait to try this out and hope this will be one of my go to’s .

    • 2. Mike answers: The app that I downloaded from Google Play DOES NOT WORK!!! You get the Time Hacker Page only not the main screen. Since Vanishing Inc does not carry the Time Hacker accessory, the $499 is a WAST OF MONEY. You get the full screen if you use the IOs.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It is not replaceable by the end user. This is deliberate to add to the deception. However, it will last at least three years and the manufacturer will replace it if needs be.

  • Peter asks: I too would like to know if the battery or power unit is replaceable. While the price keeps it out of weekend hobby magicians....I want to know that using this wisely will allow me more than a few years of use....I have purchased a few electronic devices and this question always comes up...with many non answers....so please guys ..someone answer this type of query.

  • Christian asks: I have 3 questions : - Somebody asked if the battery in the whiteboard is replaceable by end user. I have the same questioning (as a battery is not eternal), plus, if the answer is "yes", are we able to find this type of battery anywhere? - Same questions for the battery in the pen : Replaceable by end user? Availability? - Vanishing Inc. answered that we will receive ink to refill the pen tip. Ok, but when this refill is finished or useless (because too old for instance), are we able to find refill ink anywhere?

  • James asks: I have an Apple Watch and have another device that is similar but paid $1600 for it and it work great on my phone or iPad but when it is sent to my watch the image is so small it is hard to read. You said your whiteboard works with a watch but is it readable on the watch ? If so I’ll consider purchasing your product. This will give me another great device.

  • Peter asks: Does Pitata Magic have a website...I only get a kick-starter link and videos directing me to this product...and we know many are not around any more. So Vanishing Magic your reply that all warranty questions are directed to a gmail account and manufacter will replace battery in 3 years if needed seem at best throwaway replies. I love the way you guys stand behind products but at $500 and non changable battery feels your response does not match up to the real concerns many of "your family" have. Feedback from us "family" is important to maintain a strong ethical company. Thank you.

  • Garett asks: Does PITATA have plans in the future to make a separate receiver device so we don't need to install an iOS or Android app to use the whiteboard? If not, will the app be open source and available through F-Droid or as a standalone APK for those of us who are security/privacy conscious and don't use Google or Apple products and don't like to install proprietary apps on our phones?

    • Dave asks: The issue with the battery. I emailed Pitata and asked about the battery and this was their response. Ahhh, sorry I misunderstood because we have some issue like I said recently. We can't replace the battery even if you send it back, but it will last at least 5 years. Just make sure you don't left it uncharged for too long. Normally we suggest you charge it at least 3 months a time to protect the battery. Best regards.
