The illusion of balance is pretty good but the “get ready” is a bit difficult for me. I’ve been practicing for a while and still can’t do it with a spectator looking. The cleanup is very smooth and happens right in front of their eyes.
I mainly use it as a little gag for when I have matches in my hand for some reason. I get the box balancing and then say something like, “Check this out!” as if I am about to drop it. It gets a surprised facial expression and sometimes they spend a bit trying to duplicate the feat. I don’t think it’s suitable for a performance environment but I’ve been having some fun with it in casual situations. To me it was worth the price.
