"Volition 2.0" by Joel Dickinson is an updated handling on his super popular mentalism effect featuring new and improved poker chips with a brand new force method. It's easy to perform and leaves a lasting impact on every audience. A fantastic close up effect for any performer.
A closed black bag with three different colored poker chips is presented to your participant alongside some cards with varying colors. They choose one and it perfectly matches the colors of the chips inside.
You then explain how each chip has a potential location and let the participant decide where each poker chip will go. Impossibly, the exact choices they made are predicted (printed) on the other side of the poker chips.
As if that was not enough, the poker chips also contain a kicker prediction that brings everything full circle and will have everyone questioning their own free will.

I have no idea why this trick doesn’t have a million reviews, because this routine is A BEAST! All of the props and gimmicks are meant to last a lifetime. They are well made and elegantly designed. They look like they should cost much more than 40 bucks. You get 1 hour of tuition from Joel that includes 2 separate handlings, how to “interpret” the props and how to connect each step. Yes, you can make this routine short or long. You can remove steps or even add other tricks to the presentation to create a full act. I must admit, because I suck at sleight of hand, I can’t do a convincing pivotal move needed to do this trick (you will know how to do it, I just suck!) If you are as terrible as I am at doing that pivotal move, you can take the presentational approach of Joel’s E:Volition, use fewer props and still do every single step he teaches. You will just no longer need do that pivotal move. (Let the reader understand) This trick is meant to open your act. But with my handling, it can be used at anytime, standing, or sitting. This trick is best used for anyone with a mind control act. I have a closeup hypnosis act, and it’s perfect for me. I give this a 10/10. Joel leaves no stone unturned. He doesn’t gloss over anything. He’s repetitive because he wants to makes sure you know every detail. But you will not have to spend 7 hours like some projects hearing theory. It’s solid teaching and to be honest, this thing is HIGHLY undervalued. Oh, if you didn’t know, you will need a deck of cards.
