I bought one of these puzzles for myself and one each for my two adult sons. It was a hit as a Christmas present and immediately took their minds off all the other neat, more expensive stuff they had received. my 9 year old grandson solved it in 5 minutes while fiddling with it, but then realized he didn't know how he had done it and spent the next hour trying to duplicate his success. I carry it in my pocket and hand the 2 pieces unlinked to any friend i know has a mechanical bent. All of them are instantly focused on trying to solve it. My favorite experience was watching a physics teacher play with it for an hour with no success and refusing to give it up for others to try. I like the feel of this small, solid heavy weight in my pocket. It is beautifully made. The package arrived with the 2 pieces unlinked and I fiddled around for about 20 minutes before the penny dropped and I saw what needed to be done. If you hand it out to others, I strongly suggest you do NOT hand it out in linked form - that makes the solution pretty obvious. Definitely worth the price.
