This multi-step “Sliding Stick Puzzle Box” is not for the faint of heart. While it’s not the hardest puzzle we offer, it is still sure to test the skills of even experienced puzzlers.

The challenge is fairly simple, you must open the top of the puzzle box. But, to do so, you must first align the 8 sticks that run forward and backward through the box in the perfect order. As an added twist, the box is decorated equally on both sides. So, you’ll also need to identify which side the top is.

Each stunning rosewood puzzle box is handcrafted in India by expert puzzle makers. It is a substantial size that makes it as much a unique piece of fine art as it is a puzzle.

Here's what you should know.

The box does not come with the solution, but I have to say, it's not a difficult solve.

Not my favorite puzzle, as, unlike the Japanese puzzle boxes. the solution is not incremental; you get no feedback as you work it out. It does help to imagine the locking mechanism as you scheme to defeat it. It is simple in the extreme, but really, the only way to defeat it is through trial and error.
