The biggest problem with the Cups and Balls has finally been solved.

Trust us, we LOVE the Cups and Balls. It's undoubtedly one of the best magic tricks ever created. Yet, at the end of the day, we can't deny that the props have really started to feel dated. They often look like magic props, which can sometimes make a modern audience feel disconnected from a routine and reduce a piece of amazing magic theater down to a simple magic trick.

More than a decade in development, Adam Wilber and Vulpine Creations have flipped the Cups and Balls on its head with the “Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans.” This professional quality set comes with everything you need to perform the most intriguing and relatable take on the Cups and Balls we’ve ever seen. It was one of the most talked about releases at the Blackpool Magic Convention and now it’s available at Vanishing Inc. in EXTREMELY LIMITED QUANTITIES.

What is it?

“Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans” is a Cups and Balls set unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s the best Cups and Balls routine for anything from close up magic and street magic to parlor and stage magic. Every single detail from the size and shape of the props, to their texture and even the sound they make has been carefully analyzed. No detail has been spared.

The Cups

The star of this one-of-a-kind release is the set of three normal-looking coffee cups that have been secretly shimmed to perfection. Nobody will ever suspect they are anything more than ordinary coffee cups. While they may look like regular ceramic mugs though, they’re actually constructed from super durable restaurant-grade plastic that is built to withstand the bumps and bruises of continued performances by a working magician.

The Beans

These cups stack perfectly, easily nesting the coffee beans inside. Those beans, by the way, are specially-made from a semi-soft rubber that handles like a dream. One of the beans has even been shimmed with the perfect amount of magnetism. You’ll never have to slam the cup to dislodge it. Fumbling your big finale is also a thing of the past because the three large final load coffee beans fit your hand like a glove.

The Loading System

You’ll also love the innovative, lightning-quick magnetic loading system that enables you to perform shocking coffee bean explosion loads and a jaw-dropping liquid load production. Each set comes with three metal holdouts that can easily slide under a close-up mat or attach to a performing surface, giving you quick and discrete access to the magnetic loading system.

Don’t want to use coffee beans? You can easily replace them with sugar cubes, tea bags or whatever you’d like. Pack everything into the custom travel bag and you’re good to go. You can easily take “Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans” with you to any performance.

Not just Another Cups and Balls set

The best thing about the “Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans” is it truly offers something for everyone. Whether you’ve never performed the Cups and Balls in your life, or this classic of magic has been in your professional set for decades, every magician will benefit from this kit in unique ways.

Learning the Cups and Balls has never been easier. Adam starts with the most basic sleight of hand moves and builds all the way up to his signature Cups and Balls routine "The Fundamentals of Magic". Even the most experienced magicians are bound to pick something new up along the way.

This massive video tutorial library also features lessons from a hand-picked selection of some of the most talented Cups and Balls magicians in the world. Magicians like Tom Wright, Craig Petty, Matthew Holtzclaw, Michael O’Brien, Jonas De Bruyn and Perseus Arkomanis share their most creative and unique contributions to the Cups and Balls. A wide array of routines and styles are included.

The best part is this online library will be regularly updated with new handlings, tips, advice and routines.

This limited set will sell fast and we only have a small number available. So, order up and start brewing the perfect Cups and Balls routine.

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Marcel asks: Do u need a special closeup mat? Because if i have loaded the cup with the smaller beans, it looks as if the bottoms of the stick to the surface of the mat to open it for the beans to come out?!

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You don't need a special close up mat, however you do need to alter your performing surface/table.
  • Tom asks: Looks awesome! Do you have to use those gigantic beans though?I don’t mean to sound rude or vulgar but they look weird and sort of anatomically gross. I love the production of the coffee beans though. It’s just that the beans are a bit of a turn off.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You can use any final loads you'd like as long as they fit in the cup.
  • Edd asks: Is the routine modular? Like if I know standard Cup and Balls stuff, can I forgo something like the liquid production for table hopping? Since one bean is "chopped" does that mean you can do a 1 cup and 1 bean chop cup routine? (using of course a secret extra B**n?)

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You can make the routine yours by switching up the phases or getting rid of phases. It's totally modular!
  • Rob asks: I see a spoon being used with the Vernon-Silent Mora wand spin. Is the spoon included? Is it weighted?

    • 1. Jim answers: The spoon is not supplied. Adam does give you a link, where you can buy a spoon for $5. Or, of course, you can use a magic wand.
    • 2. Michael answers: Please share link for spoon purchase.

  • Ged asks: Penn and Teller have exposed this trick repeatedly for years. Can I do this without going to my pockets? I like the sound of those magnets; it sounds like I can do this without any telltale sleight of hand moves. If it is self working that would be good. Can I work it into a mental act? The Amazing Flambo

    • 1. Adam answers: I don't think there are really any C&B routines that are truly self-working as it almost defeats the purpose of the effect itself. But this set does allow for incredibly easy loading of the surprise kicker ending. You get metal arms that hold the final inserts just out of the sightline of the spectators so there is no need to go to your pocket. These really are more of a utility set that you can use for any C&B routine you currently do. Self working...No, but easy as pie...Yes, indeed :)

  • Michael asks: Can I purchase the instructions and not the props

    • 1. Adam answers: Hey, Adam Wilber here and not for this one no. This will only be available as a full kit and instruction package deal.

  • John asks: Are the bottoms of the cups concave so they will prevent a ball from rolling off the top when upside down?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes, the cups are designed for the cups and balls and will keep everything stable.
  • Richard asks: Can the coffee bean loads be done from the pockets for standup, street performances where the magician is more or less "surrounded"?

    • 1. Jim answers: You will need to practice and rehearse, but it is certainly doable.

  • Marc asks: Is the glass for the liquid final load included?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes, you'll receive 3 final load shells and one of them is for the liquid load.
  • Serh asks: Do the cups stack?

    • 1. Adam answers: Yes, they stack with enough room to conceal the beans. You can see them stacked in the product photos as well. -Adam Wilber

  • Mark asks: The external artists video on the Murphys Magic instructional link has 3 artist tutorials. The add copy and a video review by Craig Petty mention more artist tutorials. Specifically tutorials by Craig Petty, Rylan Petty, and Perseus Arkomanis are missing. Is this something that is to be added later?

    • 1. Adam answers: Hey Adam here, Yes, we are just waiting to get the final videos from the remaining artists. They will be added hopefully before this week is over. -Adam

  • Derek asks: Will having coffee in the final loader, color it the flash loader?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: It will not because the chamber for the coffee is never seen.
  • Nathaniel asks: Are the cups food safe? Would one be able to use these as actual coffee cups & then go into a routine with them or would that damage the shimming? I realize that they are made from "restaurant grade plastic", but I don't know if that carries over to being safe to drink from.

    • 1. Jim answers: They will hold liquid, but I would not recommend drinking from them, as there is epoxy in them.

  • Phil asks: I can't write a review, cause I bought this from another source. But, this is very well made. A 3-1/2 hour tutorial is extensive. Adam knocks it out of the park with all the details he goes over. There's also many more videos from other artists sharing their routine. One question, is it Fundamentals or Fundermentals? Did you notice the spelling in the video? The items are well made and the loading is super quiet. All you need to supply are the beans and liquid for the final load. Of course, you'll need a close up mat and table too.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! What an observant eye to have caught Fundermentals :)
  • Rodrigo asks: Hi in the package come only 1 or 3 metal pieces for the final load, or the 3 cups fits in the one metal piece?

    • 1. Jim answers: Three.

  • Stanley asks: Hey adam. Are you ever going to sell those vulpine close-up mats?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: This might be something you have to ask Adam directly

Customer reviews for Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans (Cups and Balls)

I have too many Cups and Ball sets...but what attracted me to this was the final loafs and the loading system. These are fabulous...well-thought out and works very well. I don't think you'd get away with it in most commercial close-up situations, but as a small stand-up or parlour piece, it's a stunner. You will need a light-coloured close-up mat or board (the demo's are done on a black mat with a red design in the middle of it which tended to mask a lot of the reveals...a strange choice) but overall, this packaged routine and props are brilliant!

This is exactly what you think it is. If you perform the cups and balls or have thought about it and the coffee cups are something that might fit your style, then get Amazing Coffee Cups and Beans! I have enjoyed working with these tools and the online project videos are great as well.
I had one small issue that Adam Wilber took care of right away.

Love this set I haven’t been able to do the whole routine because it appears that I have to modify the table to accept the metal shelves I’m still contemplating how I’m going to do it but the coffee cups and beans nice set up

Adam Wilber has done it again!! With a deeply powerful and abiding conviction to every product he releases, Adam’s AMAZING COFFEE CUPS & BEANS sets a “new level” standard on how the cups and balls will be performed in the future.

Gazzo and Dai have always been, to me, the gold standard on how to perform this classic of magic. But now I’m thrilled to say that I can add Adam to this group of esteemed magicians’ take on this plot.

He has done more than just make this routine modern and unique, he has made the relevance of connecting with your audience, with something they can immediately relate to, the top priority. For truthfully, that’s what it’s all about in the endgame for us as performers. Even if your audience are not fans of coffee, they can look at the routine and connect immediately with the magician performing it for them.

Yes. As with any quality routine it will take some major practice to adjusting and adapting to this new variation. But the props you are provided with are top notch. High quality, fun, and diabolically delicious!

I’ve only had this kit for less than a day and can already find my mind devising interesting and exciting new plots to throw in and mix up my show with.

Yes. It’s pricey. But the price you pay for such a phenomenal kit of prestidigitation is an investment worth making. The money is nothing compared to the plethora of possibilities at your disposal.

I can already see this hard earned money that’s I’ve spent being paid back to me in spades, clubs, diamonds, hearts, &, of course, green beans ten times over. I plan on using these props for an upcoming corporate gig I have in a week. And I’m beyond excited to see the reactions I will get!

Thank you, Adam and Vulpine, for another incredible creation!! Keep on moving forward and doing what you do so well!!!
