The Evolution of the Amazebox
By Vanishing Inc. -
When Mark Shortland brought us the original Amazebox, we knew we had something special.

The concept was brilliant: an unassuming cardboard box that can switch or force without anyone ever touching it. No electronics, no sleight of hand, just clever engineering and design doing all the work.
If you’re not familiar with the Amazebox, participants write down their favorite songs, numbers, or names, drop them in the box, and later pull out a paper at random. What they don't know is that the box has already swapped their papers for a batch you prepared in advance. Cool, right?
It became an instant favorite with magicians, mentalists, and stage performers alike, and the white version quickly became one of our best-selling items of all time.
As time went on, we started getting feedback from performers who had integrated Amazebox into their shows: They wanted it to be larger, and they weren’t fans of the white box.
That’s when we introduced Amazebox Black, refining the look and making it sturdier and larger while keeping the same ingenious mechanism that made the original so reliable.

But we didn’t stop listening and tweaking. That feedback led us to the Amazebox Kraft, which we truly believe is the best version to date.
Amazebox Kraft
Amazebox Kraft does something the white and black versions couldn't: it disappears. A plain, brown cardboard box doesn't look like a prop at all. It looks like something you made out of cardboard, or was left over from a house move. It looks exactly like what it claims to be: a simple box for collecting slips of paper. That alone makes the switch even more deceptive.
Beyond the look, Kraft brought real upgrades: it packs smaller while still folding flat, metal reinforcements and a magnetic locking system make assembly a four-second job, and the materials are simply more durable for the rigors of touring and repeat use.
After weighing everything our community told us, the decision was clear. Going forward, Amazebox Kraft will be the primary version we produce. It's the size, durability, and design we always wanted, refined through two earlier versions and thousands of shows.
If you've used Amazebox before, you already know the power of this prop. If you haven't, there's never been a better time to start.
