I got to get this masterclass by accident as I forgot to pause my membership. TBH I really didn’t know Mr Prado. I’m so thankful for my mistake. The first part of tue master class where he talks about tesseract and invisibility and how some time more is actually less as long as it looks more natural. And the whole part is also generally very usable in your everyday life. And yea the effects he has thought are a cherry ?? on the top.

Daniel Prado's card magic in this lesson was very amazing. His sleights will definitely require a fair amount of practice. I enjoyed listening to his philosophy as well as his views of being more or less refractory. His thoughts are very interesting to me. I am very much looking forward to his Q & A session.

This masterclass introduced me the depth and sophistication of Daniel’s thinking. It’s definitely worth a rewatch or two to grasp what he shared. (Maybe he has a book in him?)

Daniel Prado review

I have to be honest, I forgot to turn off my masterclass for this month (I didn’t know much about Mr. Prado). Since it was available, I tuned in. To say that I was impressed is an understatement.

Where else would you hear about Noam Chomsky, Plato’s Republic, the philosophy of epistemology, the theory of invisibility, and the double lift? This is a great lecture, but those of you who only want tricks or methods should watch this with a careful eye (as opposed to a crazy eye).

Mr. Prado raises some great questions. In his desire to give his audience a tesseract (an impossible experience) he asks some very fundamental questions that could be the bedrock on which magicians can hone their craft by asking about their own magic.

After acknowledging the critical difference between not knowing how something is done and knowing that something cannot be done (as stated so well by Simon Aronson) Mr. Prado begins with his “theory of invisibility.” This is a fascinating concept (in fact Mr. Prado has an entire two-hour lecture on this one can purchase from VI). The key to our actions being “invisible” is that they match our everyday actions.

So then, we are again told to BE NATURAL. Mr. Prado takes us farther along though by asking the question of what it means to be natural and how does one determine this.

Sometimes I tell my students in advanced classes that “the questions are as important (if not more important) than the answers.” This lecture has some GREAT questions and thinking about them will help not only your magic but yourself.

I enjoyed Daniel's first MasterClass very much. I learned some new card sleights such as the reverse Cull, and also learned how to mark cards easily, or create a one way deck from a symmetrical backed deck. His theory on making magic effects that totally fool the spectators was very interesting.

I particularly liked the theory, which I found interesting. There are some interesting concepts around you can build and perform magic.

Daniel is a heck of a magician and obviously a bright guy, but this wasn’t really the moment for some of the philosophical thoughts. It was all a bit juvenile and more self-indulgent than helpful.
