Nostalgia - magic
Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia

Give your audience a trip down memory lane with this delightfully fun and powerful routine from the same creative mind behind Vanishing Inc.'s bestselling effect "Socks" and "Priceless".

"Nostalgia" by Michel Huot is a professional 5-7 minute stage and parlor magic effect that will connect with audiences of all ages. Playing into the recent resurgence of vintage clothes and toys, it uses an iconic and immediately recognizable ViewMaster toy to create an unforgettable experience that is like a hybrid of a book test and drawing duplication.

You start by allowing some ViewMaster reels to be examined. A spectator selects one, places it into the ViewMaster and puts everything behind their back. They then click through the images and stop on one image randomly. They bring the toy back out, look through it and memorize the image.

There's no way you could ever know what they saw, yet, somehow you're able to impossibly draw the exact image they were merely thinking of. This is a super fun bit of magic and mentalism that your audiences will love.

Comes With:

  • 10 reels (including gimmicked reels)
  • ViewMaster Toy
  • Special bag
  • BONUS: a unique reel with The Princess Card Trick on it
  • Online instructions

Don't miss your chance to own this stand up magic gem. Limited quantities of "Nostalgia" are available.

"Bringing back nostalgic classics from the 90s seems to be a huge trend these days. Hollywood classics are being brought back both on television and the big screen. What Michel has done here is both very trendy and deeply nostalgic. Using a prop that reminds us all of our childhood gives it an extremely innocent feel, it is however anything but innocent. A clever method, an entertaining routine and a very engaging presentation from one of the best in the business!" Spidey

"Nostalgia is a funky cool, 80's style mind reading miracle!" Richard Sanders

"Oh wow! Freaking Fantastic! I'm mad I didn't think of it. I lived inside a ViewMaster my whole childhood. So, so good." Jonathan Friedman

"This on is really fun. Packs small, plays big. So clearly effective" Maxence Vire

Have a question about this product? It's possible others do too. Ask here and other Vanishing Inc. Magic customers will be able to respond with assistance! Alternatively, email us and we can help too.

  • Will asks: Is the reveal always the same? Are there options to the revealed image?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You get 5 gimmicked reels, so the reveals are limited to what is on those reels.
  • Kelsey asks: Is the bag gimmicked as well?

    • 1. Jim answers: As noted above, it is a special bag. It is optional. Two handlings are taught, and one does not use the bag.

  • Jeffrey asks: Without a full demo, the force seems a little meh. Love to see a full performance first for the price.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Michel teaches two ways of forcing the reels. One with the bag and one without. Both are very good since laymen do not know they are being forced.
  • Jeffrey asks: Is there a routine that comes with it?

    • 1. Jim answers: He covers his basic routine, and he does go over some presentational talking points.

  • Robert asks: I love the idea and the basic props. Mostly bothered by the fact that view master reels are normally white -- which is exactly what the promo image has in it. But the demo and product photos are all black. It's like they knew that they should be white and marketed that way, but they produced them in black. Not much of a question here except is the bag necessary? Assume it's f***e bag?

    • 1. Jim answers: It is optional. Two handlings are taught, and one does not use the bag.

  • Gordon asks: Can I use the Viewmaster normally? That is, to look at hold reels from my childhood?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: The Viewmaster can work normally but you want to make sure that your reels will fit. The ones for this trick are thin and made of plastic.
  • Doug asks: Can a (presumably ungimmicked) reel be placed into the Viewmaster and viewed? This seems necessary as a convincer.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Yes! All of the reels will work with the Viewmaster.
