Is this the "method" the same as Craig Petty's Atomic Deck? Are these thin cards? When you strip them down, do you see 52 cards or fewer?

Curious it doesn't say whether it's a red or blue is there a standard? Could I easily replicate the gimmicks for a deck of a different design? Can you spread the deck on a table?
