Chris Capehart Children’s Show and Lecture

This is always one of the highlights of the convention. We welcome students from a local school. The magicians sit behind the school group to observe Chris Capehart masterfully whip the kids into hysteria with his inimitable style. Then, after the kids are dismissed, Chris Capehart will deliver a lecture for MagiFest attendees.

Past to Future

This event looks back and then forward at the state of magic. We begin with Margarette Steele presenting on her idol and the subject of her research: Adelaide Hermann. Margarette was part of an UNBELIEVABLE new revelation about magic’s most revered female performer, which she will share with us. Then acclaimed author Joe Posnanski sits down with Joshua Jay to discuss his new book on Houdini. Finally, we delve into the future with teen phenom Elias Arbuckle, who will perform his act.

Mike Pisciotta Lecture

You won’t want to miss the close-up and parlor magic lecture. Consisting of card and coin routines that delight behind the bar or up close, this material has been honed to perfection through nightly performances at the Magic Castle.

Wolfgang Moser Lecture

Austria’s Wolfgang Moser offers a poetic, inventive style of magic, which he will detail in his US lecture debut.

Peter Clifford Lecture

Peter’s background is theater, and he will explore the ways we as magicians can improve our shows using theatrical drills and techniques.

MagiFest Youth Scholars Event

An event for magicians 18 and younger only.

Gahanna High School Students will exchange magic with our Youth Scholars). We’re pleased to welcome the Gahanna High School’s magic program back to the Magi-Fest, this year with a more hands-on approach. The Students with Disabilities program will interact with our Youth Scholars to share magic together.

Olmedini Interview and Show

Olmedini was recently featured in The New York Times, and we knew instantly we had to share him with MagiFest attendees. Famous in his youth in his native Ecuador, Olmedini lost his vision, yet continued to perform in New York City. His life story is filled with adventure and obstacles, but he’s a moving reminder of the power of magic. This is not to be missed.
