Most magicians will recognize this name because Martin Gardner was labeled by MAGIC Magazine as one of “Top 100 Most Influential Magicians of the 20th Century.” His beloved book Encyclopedia of Impromptu Magic is considered by many to be one of the most important magic books ever written.
But, some magicians may not realize that Martin was also a prolific author and contributor within the mathematics and science communities. He is considered by many to be the Father of Recreational Math and the greatest puzzler in recent history. So, the fact Stewart Coffin was able to stump Martin was a testament to the ingenuity of the puzzle master.
