Magic download (video) by Guy Hollingworth (30.00)

Perhaps Guy’s most celebrated effect, The Reformation is performed and taught in intricate detail, followed by a discussion on alternate handlings. A signed playing card is torn into quarters, only to be reassembled piece by piece. A miracle. A classic.

Approximate Runtime: 50 minutes.

Definitely not an easy trick, but it should be in every card magician's repertoire. The reason is it can be performed using practically any style (e.g. talking or silently), and it's very simple for your spectators to follow along.

The most difficult part is having your hands appear natural and relaxed, as it is a little sleight-of-hand heavy. Moreover, you may need to rewind the tutorial many times, as there are A LOT of details to memorize. However, it is definitely worth the practice (be sure to use a mirror!) and also a great one to perform virtually. Done properly, it is an extremely powerful effect. Get ready to rip cards!

I LOVE this effect. Its so clean and crisp and it nice me the impression, that if I were REALLY about to do magic (I mean of course I can, but you know...), this is how it would look.

The teaching on this is second to none, and whilst it is not simple mechanically, it is detailed, and explained exceptionally well, in great detail and with great care.

Guy takes you through every step in meticulous detail, taking care to give a thorough explanation of every single movement and leaves nothing out. Nothing is left to chance, and the whole thing is put together exceptionally well.

I am really looking forward to putting the time into this effect and getting to grips with it to make it a part of my standard repertoire and being able to wow audiences and blow them away with a REAL piece of visual magic that they can keep and remember.

If you are looking for a piece of magic to really set yourself apart from all of the other effects out there that look like this, but are not even nearly as clean or as well put together, then you are in the right place.

Thanks Guy and Everyone at Vanishing. Inc.

What a brilliant piece of magic. I really like Guy’s teaching. He is able to articulate himself very well and goes into great depth on everything he does. He gives you a brief history and gets straight into the explanation. I’ve seen a few versions of this plot and this is definitely my favorite. Its angels aren’t perfect but it’s definitely preformable. The Reformation is the most beautiful piece of magic I’ve seen.

Guy is extremely clear in his teaching making it really simple to understand. Often times magic is a struggle because it's hard to articulate what exactly you should do with your fingers and hands, but Guy explains it with such clarity that with some practice in a mirror, you shouldn't find it a thrill to learn.

T&R Card has been one of my favorite plots ever since I saw this decades ago. One can find other versions that are certainly neat tricks, but, Guy's version is real magic. This will take some time to get as smooth as he is, but, you will have a beautiful piece of Real Magic if you take the time. I got re interested in this after seeing
Guy's endorsement of Switch One. It will be interesting to bring the two together. It looks like a lot of practice, but, Fun Practice! Mostly getting the moves down and in the right order, not trying to master some new knucklebusting sleight that my old hands might struggle with. Full disclosure: I LOVE Guy Hollingsworth's Magic, so, I may be biased.

Guy's style is so matter-of-fact and charming it makes one feel almost as if you are willing him to make the magic happen. An experiment in trying to do something special together - which though it breaks a rule of magic, i.e. don't tell the spectator what is going to happen, nonetheless proves as endearing as it is baffling.

Excellent and I love it that he restores the 4th piece unlike other methods.

Absolutely fantastic. The whole sequence is so smooth and elegant and so well explained. I tried this when the book first came out and got through it but never put in the time needed to get it working properly. With this video showing everything so clearly I'm inspired to try again. It'll still need plenty of practice but it definitely seems more attainable now. Only complaint: I'd love to see close-ups of the books in Guy's library behind him.
