Curtain Call - Pins - magic

Curtain Call provide exquisite accessories for magicians. Whether it be for a gift, or for yourself, these gorgeous pieces are not to be missed

When we think about magician fashions, we usually shutter at the thought of playing card print ties and ill-fitting suit vests. But Michel Huot has created two EXTREMELY attractive lapel pins that do exactly what we think subtle magic fashion ought to do: not distract, but evoke questions from those who appreciate detail. "What's that?" your spectators may ask you. And then, you have an in to go into a trick or talk about what it is you do.

These pins come in two styles (click "Add to Cart" to select):

Erdnase Second Deal - The iconic illustration from the single greatest work on card magic ever written...immortalized on your lapel.

The Whispering Imp - In the golden age of magic, posters depicted whispering devils speaking secrets into the ears of all the greatest magicians of the age. Now one of these imps can whisper his secrets to you.

A bit of history about Curtain Call...

It all started at a magic convention... when magician Michel Huot wanted to turn a table into the famous Melies Moon for part of his lecture. He turned to his friend and colleague Sophie-Anne Vachon who only had a few pens and some cardboard, and 45 minutes later, they had everything they needed.

A few weeks later, Michel called Sophie-Anne with the idea to join forces: her design and illustration background, with his entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of the magic community.

First came the Devil Cufflinks, as a nod to their shared passion for magic history. The one they chose is a direct reference to Howard Thurston. Soon after, the Erdnase cufflinks were in the works. Both designs are now also available as pins, making them suitable for work and play wear.

Michel Huot is one of Montreal’s busiest corporate magicians of the past 20 years. He is the creator of the best selling trick Priceless (marketed by Richard Sanders). His creations appeared in MAGIC, GENII, David Acer’s Natural Selections II, SWITCH (John Lovick), Mentalism for Kids (Paul Rohmany), The Magic Menu (Jim Sisti) and so on. He has also been an attendee at the FFFF Convention for more than 15 years. His focus is on hands-on commercial magic, real practical magic that can be done in the real world.

Sophie-Anne Vachon is an illustrator, designer and magician’s assistant. She has illustrated children’s books - many on magic! - and works with private clients to create custom graphic content and illustrations. She provides artistic consulting to magicians, helping them forge their aesthetic signature, from wardrobe styling and prop building, to graphic and set design. She is fascinated by the history of magic and also acts as an assistant to Canadian Magic Champion Marc Trudel.
